Updated CJ4 Performance - Updated engines.cfg

Recommended Posts

I am so antsy waiting for his fuel tweaks. I looked at the files and did not have a clue where to start. The bird does seem a little thirsty.

I tried this mod and lost CJ4 from my a/c selection. Must have been my mistake but when I went back to the default CJ4 without this mod, it was back in my hangar. Lesson learned: ALWAYS back up the original files.

Not sure how you're installing, but you don't have to touch any of your original files to use this mod. If you did, you're doing it wrong.

That ebook download site in Github is on my Malware avoid sites.  I would like to see what Is in the CJ4 Manual, but, not bad enough to expose the system to a virus.

Has anyone managed to actually see a copy?

I don´t know that either. 🙂 I don´t think I touched the original files, just dropped the new files where they should go. But can´t be sure because it don´t make sense in other ways. Hmmm

Thank you for this mod!

I would advise you start uploading updates on github, where is going to keep track off and also get the lastest version. If you need help setting it up, just let me know!

Cheers :)

Much is being done and, yes, working with @kaosfere, @MattNischan and @FNAL . A few screenshots... still a lot of work to do to bring it all together, but we are very excited about the progress so far... @FNAL used to fly the CJ4, so he's bringing a ton of real world knowledge (and pictures) to make this as accurate as possible.

You need to drop the folder into your Community folder, not into the Official folder where the originals were. You don't ever want to touch anything in the Official folder. The way MSFS is structured, these mods are designed to be laid directly into the community folder. You can see the instructions on the second page of this thread.

Oh my god, I was so annoyed about the incomplete FMC that I was really considering to just guess what buttons and pages should go where and hack together some (very basic) flightplan editing functionality.

But this is so much better! You guys are the best, thanks. I'm really looking forward to hearing more about it.

Just completed flight from EICK to EGPH. Huge improvement in power management and fuel usage. Thank you for this mod.

Tried the mod. Works. Thanks for this. Question about the V-Speeds: these are still just dummy values in the FMC, right? Not that you can read them on the PFD anyway....

And the mod works with all the liveries installed for the CJ4?

You can enter in your own V-speeds and they will populate on the PFD.  A performance calculator is in the works so it'll give you good values.  But to start, an empty CJ will probably have a V1 around 96, VR at 100.  Max weight V1 is probably 112 and VR 115.

Yes, the liveries are separate from the FMC work so will work just fine.
