Thanks for clearing that up. I now have a 2080 8 Gb and a 2080 Ti 11 Gb and my intention is to sell the 2080 and replace it by the 2080 Ti for my left view pc (1x 4K) and buy a 2080 16Gb for my front view server (2x 4K in NVSURROUND)... That's what I'm thinking, 10gb isn't enough, but 24gb is a bit much considering the price. I'm going to wait a bit to see what AMD comes up with or what Nvidia releases later. Not like I could find a 3080 or 3090 anyway. October 6, 20205 yr 10GB VRAM is not enough for VR. I have a 2080ti with 11GB and even in regional ORBX you get really close to the limit on the Milviz 350i. At least 16GB for VR.

Edit: i posted in this forum a while back the findings from pmdg 747 + trueearth + every single option and slider turned up as far as it would go. No VRAM crashes. “Here you go. Flightbeam KSFO. Orbx TrueEarth Northern California. FS2Crew. GSX Level 2, passenger boarding. Leonardo Maddog. Heinrik's ships, 100%. AIG AI traffic, every airline installed, set at 100%. ActiveSky P3D. As per previous test, every single slider and checkbox turned up to 11 - I tried to move them further, but they would not budge. “ That used 8.8 gig of VRAM, yes that might crash a 10 gig card but there is no way i would ever want to fly with the slider settings i used here! October 9, 20205 yr There is no real benefit in P3D with a 3090. If you've got a 2080Ti or similar it's not worth the upgrade. Cheers,John TavendaleTextures by Tavers - https://www.facebook.com/texturesbytavers

October 17, 20205 yr AMD. If a 3090 would have been available for the anticipated priceI probably would own one already. As I have to wait anyway I will take the opportunity and see what AMD will bring to us. Karl i9-9900K@5,0 | 32GB 3200 | 2080TI | 4K 55" | MSFS | P3D V5

I have to admit never had issiues with nvidia. But the AMD drivers are Diving me Crazy. Crashes strange OC behavior.... But if the next Gen has 16GB and is on 3080 Level and available why not. October 17, 20205 yr Prices are really getting crazy i have 1080ti msi lightning z which I bought for 700$ Australian used 1yr and 1/2 ago and has been running amazingly well. i cannot justify spending almost 3000 now for a 10% increase. Insane... to spend that amount of cash on extra vram. I’ll wait a year and get it relatively cheaper. mike
