For me it's change of Affinity in the first place, that makes the show more fluid, not those 2. Try it.

Thanks but are you saing that in ProcessLasso/MSFS  its a advantage using MSFS.exe on core 1,3,5,7 (instead of all 0-7 with HT On) ?

Or is it 0,2,4,6?

If you have 8 cores or more it may help in order not to divert threads to the logical cores, but with 4c/8t assigning the affinity to 4 cores only will cause 100% CPU usage and a lot of stuttering. 

Moreover to change the affinity you don't need Process Lasso, you can do it from the Task manager.

This to me is what MSFS is best suited for GA VFR sim, the detailed airport`s are no match for high detailed addon airports, which makes me wonder how will performance be with 50 addon airport and highly detailed aircraft added.

My sense is that our hardwares will get crushed with airport add-ons and complex aircraft. Perhaps the RTX 3090 could alíviate the problem but the fact is that game is tough on hardware. For now, ultra graphics settings and maxed out resolutions are out of the questions. On the other hand, I keep reading about positive experiences as well. I still haven’t tried the game but I am not looking forward to all the issues associated with it.

Michael, I have i9 9900k HT On, so with ProcessLasso I can see that all LPs are quite active, but nothing dramatic though. What I do then I select Flightsimulator.exe and change the affinity to:     01.01.01.01.01.01.01.01

I launch my apps with a batch file on the last 2Cores LP13 and LP15, they are Fraps, TrackIR, GFKeys and littlenavconnect.

The most important information I got from NickN was that the ESET NOD32 antivirus did not use enough resources to warrant shutting it down to run FSX.  Considering the insane level of system optimization he was promoting, this was something really major.

I once got a virus that McAfee and one of the freeware AV systems couldn't find.  I remembered NickN's advice and checked out the ESET site.  They did a free online scan that both found and fixed the virus.  I purchased NOD32 that day and have been using it ever since without any kind of problems, and have purchased the periodic updates.

As with all antivirus systems, your mileage may vary.

I just wondered the other day why I'm using Nod32 for almost 10 years now.

Do anyone know why would you have to do Step 3 every time we open the game? PL has a "Always" tab on the priority class.

I won't use anything else but ESET.  I have never had anything slip through, yet its overhead is so low.  Great for gaming. 👍
