So it works only for those using the sim in windowed mode? I use it in full screen, and well, didn't notice any change i am afraid. I still want to believe there is something off with the sim and in the next patches it will be fixed.

More like experience. I've been around these forums for close to 17 years and have seen and read it all.

One question? Where do we find the .exe in the X-Box Store install? (Yes I know all about the steam version)

You find it in Project Lasso. It's like finding it in Windows task manager. After the sim has hit the main menu open Project Lasso and you'll see the exe listed there.

Don`t use lasso or AM only 4 cores no HT no stutter full streaming 4K.

I'm going to install PL and I haven't touched it last 3 years. Please remind me can you assign AM to PL itself?

Thanks.

True, but if I got a $ each time I read about a so-called performance tweak, I'be living on the Cote d'Azur, Brazilian super models galivanting around in my pool, while my Cessna Citation jet is sitting in the hangar ready for that flight to Dubai.

Streaming live weather will affect performance in 4K, but still no stutters i should add i have a cable connection, and i think this can affect some users performance.

I know this has been thrown around a few times on this board, but I think it's worth making another thread because of how much it worked for me.  It wont work for some, that's the nature of PC software, especially sims of this scope, but it knocked out all of my stuttering issues almost 100%....

The above deffinitely works AND+: I've changed AM so that to remove all second (left) LPs on FlightSimulator.exe, so that only the right ones per physical core are engaged - MSFS2020 has definitely become stunningly fluid, amazing.

Payware PL Pro has been waiting 3 years for its moment in my hangar. I'm glad I've tried the tweak and also listened to SteveW to consider change of HT's affinity.

Thanks.

PS: Unfortunately there's no way so far to launch FlightSimulator.exe by a batch with a certain affinity.

PPS: "With no limits set I see over 100fps and some LPs are maxed and the sister LPs are at around 20 to 30 % so that there is up to 30% sharing of the cores that do not want sharing. So there is room for improvement in HT mode".

Raymond, looks great and fluid but for the sake of proving your concept try low level turns over London city or another heavy one with a huge amount of objects in view, perhaps?

When your CPU and GPU are at 100% looking at only plane and sky... I think they're in for some trouble.

Currently giving X-Plane 12.10 a spin on Shadow PC. 10 years with X-Plane now, since 10.20

This is about as heavy as you can get note the GPU usage 8GB will not do the job.

Honestly I believe that if Lasso or the background task trick improve things, it means that the SO is messed up.

On a clean Win10 2004 installation the OP suggestion, if anything, makes things worse for my system.

JFK approach challenge / MSI Afterburner benchmark mode

Benchmark started after a 1st run to avoid loading and after completing the pre-flight animation.

Without Process Lasso:

  • Average: 33 fps
  • 1% low: 16 fps

With Project Lasso (ProBalance and Windows dynamic thread boosting disabled):

  • Average: 33 fps
  • 1% low: 13 fps

System:

  • i7 7700K
  • 32 GB 3200 MHz CL16
  • GTX 1080 Ti Aorus
  • Samsung 970 EVO 1 TB NVME SSD
  • 2560x1440 High-end settings

No! Towards the city, please! 😄

I'm glad it is fluid for you, but I can see much better distribution and load on my graphs.
