September 1, 20205 yr We will see ... Nvidia will reveal details about their new video cards in about one and a half hours. https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce/special-event/?ncid=afm-chs-44270&ranMID=44270&ranEAID=TnL5HPStwNw&ranSiteID=TnL5HPStwNw-SH3QVjkmd9J848yZrQP1GQ Edited September 1, 20205 yr by Nemo - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).
September 1, 20205 yr Maybe its hard saying for sure until hardware reaches peoples hands. I am fairly sure MSFS will be in a lot of benchmark suites it seems to have traction that no other sim has seemed to get yet. Also depends on what optimizations come down the pipeline for the sim. I am fairly sure there will be some coming. Would love to see some DLSS implementation at some level.
September 1, 20205 yr I’d say more likely a 3090......especially if the leaked memory is true. Edited September 1, 20205 yr by Ianrivaldosmith
September 1, 20205 yr I shall be watching as I'm in for the 3090. However I fear (for now at least) FS2020 will be wasted on the new 3000 series cards - at least until optimization is completed. New PC Ryzen 9850X3D - 32gb ddr5 6000Mhz - MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk wifi - Gigabyte wind force gaming OC 5090 - 2TB Sabrent NVMe. September 1, 20205 yr My guess, those with 2080Ti’s will find it hard to justify the cost. Price vs performance is unlikely to be attractive for them. Time will tell. September 1, 20205 yr Hi, I can't speak for everyone, but I do not need a 3080 for any current FS simulator at 4K. The key is having a well matched processor, ram, SSD and video card. FPS is for pussies. 🙂 I tune to smooth frames watching CPU Vcore and temp, case fan speeds and tweaking setting options. My P3Dv5 and FS2020 all deliver smooth flights with occasional hesitations at 4K. I9-9900KF and Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 Super match well. Bob Bob Prince
September 1, 20205 yr Not so sure I’m ready to shell out $1,400.00 plus USD for a 3080 card and another couple hundred for a 1k watt PSU (with 12 pin power connector) if the sim is only going to use 40% of my GPU! Especially since I Have a 2080 super now! Chris Camp

Especially since I Have a 2080 super now! I feel like the 3090 rumors have it pegged at 1400-2000 but I suspect the 3080 plain edition will be 700-800 out of the gate....which to me is still pricey but if it works well...I may pull the trigger.

September 1, 20205 yr Maybe there will be a few 2080Ti’s up for sale at good prices though.... September 1, 20205 yr I just recently got myself a 1080ti and don't think I'll be upgrading. Only have a 1080p monitor and a second 720. I'd need a whole new case and PSU, which is well above the worth of it in my opinion. / CPU: Intel i7-9700K @4.9 / RAM: 32GB G.Skill 3200 / GPU: RTX 4080 16GB / Freight Pilot

I already run in 4K, but then i am nowhere near really major airports most of time and frankly with Ultra out in the countryside mostly its great..... The 1080Ti is a competent card, and on a 1080p monitor if your CPU is decent am sure youre getting a decent looking game too.
