It certainly will not help that thread is filed under "General Discussion" on the forums.  Who looks in there for support? 😒

64 votes now. I guess there are many people lurking in the general discussion forums.

On a flight right now, I've got the issue 7-8 times in an hour or so...

Just got the error again about about 4 mins of flying.  Had deleted my rolling cache and restarted my router.  This has quickly gone to beyond a joke.

This is also on a fresh sim and windows install and its worse than ever.  I have no faith on Asobo/MS fixing it since I am nearly finished reading a 480 post thread on their forums which dates back over the past 6 months and so far not a single response from the developer.  To read all this on the same day PMDG lift their NDA and allow streamers to share videos is not good as my faith in the sim has now hit rock bottom.

I only get the "low bandwith" message when I try to use the google maps mod....never with bing...Go figure..

I get the error and am forced to go offline even before the flight configuration in the case (An32). My internet network is fast and ok (any world server the same problem).

Anyone getting this message, do you also get a sound degradation? i.e. crackling like static electricity?

YES, I have the same problem. I have fast internet, never got a warning before. Now I am getting low bandwidth and sound problems as you describe. No other programs are having problems, so it must be a MSFS bug.

Not to split hairs, but rather than a bug, I suspect it is a lack of capacity at the MS server end.

Bert

Has only ever happened to me on this Easter weekend. Suspect MS-end issue. Judging by all of the similar user issues at the same weekend. I just turned it back online a couple of times and it seemed to go away.

At least I'm not alone

The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA

it happened again... your bandwidth is too low activate the offline mode. I currently have 613.p Mbps download by 306.8 upload. It does not resolve to change world server in Fs2020. It's getting really frustrating.

Is there any way to prevent the message of low bandwidth to pause the simulator ?

After not enabling live traffic nor Navigraph map and also applying the NDU registry tweak I went to bed with the sim running and 4 hours later it was still ok (though had run out of fuel).  Was excited I may have found my resolution. Started a fresh flight before I went out early this morning and just returned home to see it perhaps lasted 30 mins max before the low bandwidth error had popped up.  Had given up on the errors which plaqued Prepar3D now totally cheesed off with this rubbish!!  Asobo are refusing the even comment on a 450+ post thread over the past 6 months on their forums.  It doesnt fill me with confidence and just appears they want more and more users despite the increasing problem of their servers being able to support the required streaming.

I have only started getting them since formatting my system the other day.  Been on W11 for about 5 months but not owned MSFS until about 2 months ago.  Not simmed that much though it definately felt more stable before last week.  Tempted to try and go back to W10, not sure if I even can and if it will activate since I am now on W11.

Happened twice now, start a flight just before it loads in "Your bandwidth is too low, you have been switched to offline mode".  I'm on a wired 200GB connection and my speeds are just fine...

Is this a bug?

Thanks

Yes, I have also seen this message. I must admit, not for some time, but nevertheless I have experienced it. I have a rock solid 80Mbps connection too.

Just got the Google maps replacement mod. Which didn't really meet my expectations - BUT: am I correct in the assumption that it will not fix the "bandwidth" problem. Since IIRC it still needs Bing data streaming to be active?
