Any "little" news on P3dV5 update?

LM has stopped communicating with us normies who aren't devs or in the beta team. It's almost impossible to even get tech support for the product.

Well there's a reason for that. 99.9% of all questions about P3d5 have answers on the LM official forums (or here on AVSim). In my experience most of the issues have something to do with 3rd party add-ons. Once upon a time, LM staff used to try to answer those questions. Now, the first thing that they ask is, does it happen with no add-ons installed?Flightsims all allow 3rd party content and piling one add-on on top of another puts the onus on the user to find a solution. It's already happening with MSFS and Asobo is in race against the clock trying to fix issues with the base sim, before they are stuck with using the same response that LM uses.

All one needs to do is buy 1 aircraft https://www.lockheedmartin.com/en-us/capabilities/aircraft.html and part of the buying deal is full P3D support with all the fixings.  If someone does buy one, that purchase will improve the sim for all of us.  I personally would love a "personal" Jet with afterburners for cross country pleasure trips.  We just need one jet purchase with contract saying P3d needs to fully upgraded till or monies are held on the purchase of the plane.

Probably b/c lot of devs for P3D just do not follow the proper guidelines as stated in the SDK etc.

Obviously, some don't even check the ContentError.txt file....

I do find the complete lack of communication with paying customers rather frustrating to be perfectly honest.

I totally get not wanting to give release dates all the time and stuff... but just not giving any updates at all is so annoying. Especially given P5D released with such glaring and lasting issues.

Is there really no middle way?

I’d ask on the official Prepar3d forums but it’s not like you ever get a reply there. And I really don’t care to get the inevitable Jorgen post explaining that the devs can’t post because they’re working. (Which obviously is nonsense. A bare minimum of communication with your customers should be part of the job and making a post once a week or even once a month doesn’t take more than a few minutes of your time.)

I use P3Dv5 ok but i have never seen where it said you must move to the next version on any flight sim. Your choice stay with what you like.

Is he part of the LM team? forum moderator? it is incredible the amount of time he spends every day answering posts on LM behalf.

It's always the same two dudes on that forum that spend 8 hours a day there running defense for LM. I get that they're trying to be helpful but most of the time they just make up excuses for LM's absence in the public subforums. If LM wants it to be a user-to-user support forum, they should state that on their website. Right now, if you click on the support tab on their site, the forum is only option besides the FAQ.

its because if they dont they will be thrown off the beta team.  which I imagine they are paranoid about. heaven forbid that happening.

I think that @Martyson really does try to help people whereas the other user does seem to fit your description. LM used to have a few non-LM staff as mods (Rob Ainscough was one and Poppet was another) but now they just have the occasional LM staff member trying to answer questions about the sim, but only if it has no add-ons installed. I still think that some user will answer a question there as long as it's not "My sim is broken and what can I do?"

The official P3d forums have well over 100K users so they must be doing something right.

of course compared to their Military and other public sector customer your are nothing to them, monetary wise anyways.

Dont let Simbol fool you just because they told him at some flightsim show/conference "we love the simmers, this year will be the year of the simmer"

The average Joe is chicken feed to what government contracts/agencies are to them

They probably think most of the general public and the "simmers and gamers" are over at ms2020 and xp11 now.  Not completly true, but also not completly false either.

you got a a320 neo for example being modded on ms2020, dont get me wrong the people doing the modding are doing gods work but in reality,  the thing cant fly in a straight line properly, it also cant cliimb or descend properly, in short the autopilot is nerfed,  yet theres an army of people that think its the greatest thing since sliced bread with a 4 page topic about it on the forumn because some youtuber decided to stop playing fortnight and have a go on ms2020 instead for some views/subs etc etc im surprised someone from onlyfans hasnt had a go on it yet to join the bandwagon and try and leech some bucks from the unsuspecting public

If thats not an example of no matter how junk a thing is , there will always be group of people that will say its amazing I dont know what is

ps.  we had a 737 at easyjet once that hit a pole in EHAM once taxing out on an icy taxiway and it bend the wing a bit.  thing didnt fly in a straight line afterwards even if the test pilots said there is was nothing wrong with it.  it was a good joke/laugh in the company for years that dodgy thing

He is not.. he does this because he wants to do it.. he is now part of the LM Beta group.. so LM noticed his effort..

@fluffyflops, be careful with your posts. Don’t say things about people unless you can back them up with facts.

I keep saying.  AVSim needs to buy a real plane from Lockheed.  Lets put the AVsim logos on it (it will be a great STEM showcase), and part of the contract involves super fast Prepar3d updates plus with fully modelled aircraft Avsim buys for it.

We have the donation of AVsim.  Lets go for the plane idea.
