September 21, 20205 yr Ok, so I have noticed one thing: If I go through the ATC while going from A to B every flight seem to be logged. If I skip ATC and just fly my flight plan most often only the landing gets logged (so as a consequence of this I have more than twice the amount of landings than take offs). Flights I have done with no ATC did log flight hours but 0 for both takeoff and landing. Then with ATC, they were counted. Not tested enough to be sure though. Mine that didn't log the takeoff/landing was ATC all the way from clearance delivery to shutdown in my parking spot. James

No, mine is logging all flights as long as I am not running in the developer mode. That will shut down the log book. When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .

And if I take off or land off-airport anywhere it doesn't seem to log them. Gotta admit it really makes my logbook look bizarre with 4 takeoffs 1 day and 0 landings or 0 takeoffs and 3 landings. Oh well, hopefully that will get fixed soon.
September 24, 20205 yr Cela fonctionne à nouveau maintenant. Edit: No, don't work !!!! Edited September 24, 20205 yr by eriktu update
October 4, 20205 yr Seen some other threads about this (can't find them) but for me at least since 1.9.3.0 the logbook is officially dead. It seems to record the flight (sometimes), gets the origin airport correct but destination is always a random ICAO with [vicinity] against it. Some folks say this is because you have developer mode active, which I do not. Add it to the list of bugs I guess? Thomas Derbyshire

I turned off developer mode after the 1.9.3.0 update, specifically to start logging again. My experience is the same as you. It records my time but does not credit the landing and shows the destination as an unknown vicinity entry. October 4, 20205 yr For me, the logbook hasn't been reliable since the beginning. I usually get the total hours, not always, and takeoffs are almost never recorded and landing almost always are recorded. I check after a flight just to see. But, yeah. The logbook isn't really working. October 4, 20205 yr I had this for the first time yesterday. It was also the first time I’ve terminated the flight with the aircraft not on a runway, taxiway or recognised parking, but just in a random spot on the airfield. I wonder if that could be relevant?
October 4, 20205 yr I thought that but I tested it by full shutdown at parking and nothing in logbook. One thing I do remember, before this patch is when you pulled the mixture or shut down the aircraft to cold and dark state the sim used to then show a screen saying Continue, Restart etc. I don't see that at all now, I wonder if this was the trigger for the logbook? October 4, 20205 yr I’m not sure. I’ve only had one flight fail to log since the latest update, but had more than 20 logged successfully. None of them had the screen to continue etc.
October 4, 20205 yr I am not sure why but had two flights in the A320 where it did not registrer any takeoffs but only landings Michael Moe Michael Moe

One thing I learned a long time ago was that, despite computing being a logic-based science, there's absolutely nothing logical about it! What works for me, doesn't necessarily work for you, what's 'broken' in my software may work perfectly for you, and what hardware combination and configuration is perfect for me might be a disaster for someone else. October 4, 20205 yr Yet another moment of stepping back and taking a breath and feeling genuinely sad and angry for those pilots for whom MSFS is just not working right. I am one of those lucky people who are genuinely in awe of MSFS2020 and have had zero issues with the Install, Deployment, and Flying, etc. My Log is recording absolutely fine. I've just hit 60 Hours and it's logged every flight accurately. All my aircraft fly just fine - apart from the A320 - which I have no interest in anyway - and I have zero graphic issues - the Sim looks and feels amazing. There's no smugness in that. It's a source of real sadness that so many are having difficulties. Sadder still, that I can offer no explanation as to why except for monitoring this forum and MSFS2020 forum where clever people are fixing things every day. We must live in hope that the bugs will be ironed out. See you up there! 🙂 A slight turn to the right to tune the VOR Radial and get ourselves together, put down the beers and get our sh*t arranged for an arrival at Marrakech after a quick leap frog over the Atlas Mountain Range after traversing the length and breath of the Sahara Desert all the way from Egypt for the last seven days. It's been fun! You must check out the Sahara Desert - it is beautiful. Edited October 4, 20205 yr by Will Fly For Cheese
October 4, 20205 yr My logbook works fine and has perfectly recorded my near complete round the world trip on the A320 and a couple of diversions on ga aircraft. No. Issues at all.
