October 31, 20205 yr it would have to be unanimous as there is no way you could have some people patching client side and not others. Patches are everybody or nobody. If it was possible to have some people on new and others on old versions they likely would have setup a cohort of beta testers for each patch by now.
October 31, 20205 yr It's not up to us to determine a delay to a Patch, that's up to Asobo. But like everything in Software issues do arise post-release, I've seen it a thousand times across many game genres over the years....it happens, nothing we can do about it. What I would like to see though is Asobo get a better handle on the blatant issues and deal with them prior to a release. October 31, 20205 yr I am no network specialist but it seems logical to think that streaming requires uniformity of the clients.Having simmers with a variety of versions would generate a huge mess. The issue is two-fold : the inherent difficulty at patching a complex piece of software and Quality Control. The first factor is here to stay but for the second Asobo has room for improvement or so it seems. October 31, 20205 yr What they really need is a small team (that can be trusted, as there seems to be quite a few agenda's with some) drop the planned update to them for say at least a week before any release amd let them test the hell out of it. October 31, 20205 yr Opt in beta with a roll-back option. A lot of others seem to do it, and XPlane in the FS community. (sorry for swearing 😄). October 31, 20205 yr I don't how one can "delay patch", but optional beta for those who want to test first prior release would be nice Life time flight sim enthusiast, current airplane owner 172P (past C182F). October 31, 20205 yr Optional updates would need to come after the first stable release. Right now, we're still feeding them plenty of bug reports and nowhere near a RC.

Right now, we're still feeding them plenty of bug reports and nowhere near a RC. hmmmmm the scary thing is that for many people this has been a stable release from day 1. Yes there are some issues, but many many people have not had a CTD.. have not had issues updating and are not having any problems flying in the sim. There is a lot of noise from those that are having problems, and they deserve to make noise (as long as they are zendesking it as well), but I would hazard a guess that a large majority of people are not having problems, or if they are, they don't see them as problems. There is a subset of the AVSIM community that are very prone to throwing a hissy fit at the slightest issue which tends to make the major issues dissapear in a cascade of trivia, or even automatically assume that because something is not working just how they want, it's a bug and has to be fixed by yesterday. In addition.. that same subset of the AVSIM community seems very very happy to ignore anything that was improved or fixed and desperately start looking for the next "cause" to rail against. For me, I know of many things that have been fixed based on my zendesk reports, including in this latest patch, so I am happy to just keep flying and watching with interest 🙂 For those that have real issues, then I hope they get sorted out, but the real issues are mostly swamped under a trivia of things like press any key etc that frankly are nice to haves, not program breaking urgent issues. Is this program still beta.. a debatable issue, but I don't think so personally.. For me, I have been able to fly every day since release in all the aircraft provided in the deluxe edition and some add-on aircraft and so whilst I would like to see some things changed.. it's not stopping me from using this as a flight sim even if in some cases it's been a little like Lord Flasheart in Blackadder goes forth... Lord Flasheart : All right men, let's do-oo-oo it! The first thing to remember is: always treat your kite like you treat your woman! Lieutenant George : How, how do you mean, Sir? Do you mean, do you mean take her home at weekends to meet your mother? Lord Flasheart : No, I mean get inside her five times a day and take her to heaven and back. .Now if 3pd devs come along and add layers such as an "aircraft sim" or a "garmin" sim or an "atc" sim on top of the basic flight sim.. I am never going to argue against it.. but I am very mindful that what we need to keep pushing on is the best possible "base" flight sim that can be added to 🙂 Graham Edited October 31, 20205 yr by Moria15 System specs... This is a good idea and I think it's coming in the near future, as Asobo has already stated they intend to do this. 😊 Ken
