Is this new? Anyone experienced it before? Am I hearing things? I was on IFR approach into KISM descending to 2000 ft from FL110. Below 10,000 ft. and at 243 knots so I wasn’t busting 250 under 10. I’m extremely happy 😃— but I’m still not sure if it’s real...🤔 Its cool ain't it. Depending on how busy the airport or airspace is, it slows you down for separation. Happens quite often if you file ifr

I don't recall if it happened in FSX. 😊 In P3D that might have been a function of Pilot 2 ATC. Too old, my memory doesn't go back that far. 😂 Bill Edited November 2, 20205 yr by Bill Griffith Bill N7IBG
November 2, 20205 yr This is very new to me too. I find it a little annoying when flying a C172 or lesser aircraft. Also I only get it on departure and if flying the Longtitude for instance they never give me a clearance above 10000 feet to any speeds at all. I have never experienced a speed restriction on arrival but I am always below 250 on descent below 10000 feet. It just seems strange because they know what sort of aircraft you are in and I have yet to see a Cessna 172 with a couple of Pratt and Whitney jets strapped to the back seat for instance ... an interesting thought?? The speed restrictions are never enforced anyway, so I cannot really see the point in them. I have never used any addon ATC and I am wondering if these sorts of instructions are in those. I also note, and again with some annoyance, that regardless of what flight level you plan on, ATC will ignore what you want and I have yet to complete a flight at the flight level I wanted and planned for. I have also, in my trusty and completely unoriginal Cessna 172 been directed by ATC to FL230. I had to check again for the aforementioned P and Ws in the back seat. Quite hilarious at times, and whilst somewhat annoying, it is not a deal breaker and I can quite happily cancel IFR when they tell me to do something stoopid. I love this game ... we were never entertained like this in any other sim. Cheers Tony Tony Chilcott. My System. Motherboard. ASRock Taichi X570 CPU Ryzen 9 3900x (not yet overclocked). Im back to sim after quite a while, but recall that RC had some kind of speed/space restriction in a later version i think. VoxATC looks like another one with focus on voice command. Have a search ATC add-on in Avsim and search engine there looks like a few programs around.

I have seen that too where ATC doesn't seem to know the capabilities of your aircraft. Another one that has been around for quite a while is the, "Please hurry up your climb/descent". I could if I was flying and F-16. 😉 Bill Bill N7IBG
November 2, 20205 yr I got yelled at multiple times when IFR to PARO on a RNAV approach (maybe 15 I forgot) ATC gave me the following restrictions/directions at least * Speed limit 230 * Speed limit 180 * Speed limit 145 Circling approach using RNAV 15 to land on 33 I GG'd at the circling part ...

Sometimes they make sense (slowing my cj4 down to 2xx) and sometimes they don't (telling me to stay below 250 in a plane that can't hit 250 in a dive). Sorry, TRACON but I have passengers in the back of this unpressurized cabin and not enough O2 for all of them.
