AIG AI Manager OCI for MSFS – Development Announcement

Well that depends on which airlines you delete. If you delete Delta Airlines and go to KATL you will see much less traffic (but still traffic) and so on.
But really there is no reason to delete them (unless you run out of disk space...). Performance doesn't relate to number of flight plans, but to the number of aircraft, which you can lower with the injection slider.

I have enough space on my hard drive, but after installing everything the flight plans, i noticed a lot of slowdown that i didn't have before. Before installing AIG. How much do you regulate the traffic injection slider? With 32Go RAM and RTX3090 a lot of slowdown in the sim.

Odd, as the AIG developers have acknowledged that this is a know issue??

I think what you're refering to is when AIG first launched, Steam versions didn't ask if you wanted to rename the traffic file while MS Store versions did. Didn't affect anything as long as you turned AI off in Sim. That issue was fixed in an update.

What means "a lot" for you? FPS-wise?
I see between 8 to 25% less FPS at 100% injection, depending on airport size.

I have my OCI installed in my community folder and since SU7 when trying to launch AI manager I get a notification that the directory comes close to the max path-length of 255 characters. Relocate the package and add a junction-link in your community directory so MSFS and AIM can detect the new OCI location. Can someone please explain how to do this? I don't even know what a junction link is xD

I think it could just be a bug, I've never seen such an issue with P3D. I could be wrong though so don't take my word on it.

It is very annoying though and I didn't have the notification before the latest update for the OCI was installed.

Thanks so much for the above. But all I want is too see a few GA statics. Is there a way to do this? I've got AIGTC set at 70% and have set MSFS Ground Traffic to 20. But while MSFS injects some random static Airliners from AIG it does not seem to inject any GA planes so smaller airports are empty.

I'm still learning here but if you set Live Traffic to ON, the sim will use the AIG models for the Asobo injected flights from Flightaware AND it will spawn GA aircraft as well albeit these will be the generic models.  This means less traffic in the skies because Asobo doesn't inject as many as AIG but you get benefit of GA traffic.  OR you can do the workaround by editing BGL files which I always try to stay aware from personally.

This is how you'll create the traffic files in AIFP:

  1. Open AIFP and go to Files.
  2. Select Mount 2020 Traffic Files.
  3. Give the package a name. I used GA AI Traffic.
  4. Select the bgl file(s) you created that contain the GA traffic.
  5. Press Continue. AIFP will create the correct folder containing those bgl files inside Community.

I did do a little bit more testing last night and was able to get GA traffic when I set AI traffic to AI Offline. MSFS used the bgls that AIFP placed in the Community folder and I confirmed that I had no other bgl files (other than ships) in my Official folder. You should be able to go back to that airport at the correct time and see your GA traffic after that.

Hope this helps!

Unfortunately, it seems AI offline traffic is causing some serious FPS fluctuations after SU7. I'll sometimes drop 20 fps for a few seconds and then shoot back up to normal, with it enabled.  Once disabling, fps is solid as a rock.  This is definitely new with SU7.  Prior, AI offline had absolutely no effect on fps for me, and I was able to have a nice mix of airliner and GA using this method.  Guess its back to no GA for now.

Anyone else confirm they are having fps issues with AI offline?

Edit: I'm now noticing that having AI offline traffic enabled causes gpu usage to tank, which is obviously the cause of fps loss.  Turn it off, gpu usage shoots up to normal.  Strange.

FPS i have 15-20%. I tested and everything is ok in the sim.

Thank you for your response, but my concern still continues - here is why.  I have a Steam install.  I understand that AIG can update itself to the latest version (not sure if it is automatic or a manual click?) once you start the app.  However, here you say that AIG will rename the file on start up.  So... I start up AIG, it renames the file (which is automatic), then it updates to the latest version which does not rename the file.  So my file(s) get renamed no matter what.  This is why I asked if there was a way to actually download the latest build of AIG AIM (which there is not).

Not sure what you mean. If you already renamed the file, it will of course not ask you again to rename it. It does not rename anything automatically, but will ask you every time you start AIM and only stop when you clicked "yes" (which is annoying, since renaming is not really necessary). This has nothing to do with updates to AIM.

Information:

We are aware of an issue of "white airplanes" in some cases. Users who have reported this have the Sim not installed on the default C:\ drive and have not changed the package location of MSFS during the setup. This results in longpaths (over 255 chars) which is causing issues since they are not allowed by default Windows 10 or 11.

AIM is longpath-aware, but the texture conversion tool we use (by Microsoft) is not, resulting in the first issues, this was solved by moving the OCI package to a shorter location. But this has not solved all the issues, since the cache directory will remain in the original location and it seems MSFS itself has issues with longpaths resulting in not laoded textures in the Sim for the MDLX based SimObjects.

I was able to replicate the above situation today with a test setup and have informed ASOBo about this issue. Based on user reports not just AIG products are affected by this issue. Till there is an official fix there are only two options:

1) Wait or accept the fact you have missing paints in the Sim

2) Move all your packages to a shorter location: https://flightsimulator.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360015910560-All-versions-Can-I-choose-or-change-the-installation-path-Install-on-the-D-drive-instead-of-the-C-drive-for-instance-

Been like this since day1. It forced me to remove msfs and re install it to a custom location (my D:/msfs) which meant my community folder was in there.
I don’t except Asobo/Microsoft to fix it anytime soon.

ps I tried all the long file names enabling in windows etc….

Hi, I am getting .NET runtime errors and the Traffic Controller program is crashing after working for a minute or two. Where do I go for help on this?

Rob, I am wondering if the common thread is we both have Windows 11.
