World Update II: United States (Update #7) is now live!

Featured Replies

Scenery looks sharper and more detailed around Charlotte and Atlanta airports and cities and runs stutter free on my old PC. However, I get occasional system shut down crashes when switching around menu windows.

The Confederation bridge was represented in the sim before this update with a generic bridge, all they did with this update was add a POI Marker to it.

Have you also downloaded the US scenery data inside the sim as that is another 4gig update ?

Yes.

I'm also noticing stutters that I didn't have before. First time my sim stutters.

Same here, and the area I was flying in was pretty generic countryside.

What happened to KATL airport's Orange/Red color panes on the buildings. I noticed this was missing on the payware KATL as well.

Did Atlanta really remove the orange/Red color panes for real?

Yeah, mine too. Before the update it was silky smooth in this area.

CPU: AMD 7800X3D | COOLER: Cooler Master MasterLiquid 240L Core ARGB | GPU: RTX 4070 TI Super 16GB OC | Mobo: ASUS TUF GAMING X670E-PLUS WIFI |
RAM: 32 GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 6000MHz PC5-48000 2x16GB CL36 | SSDs: WD Black SN770 2TB NVMe SSD (WIN11), WD Black SN850X SSD 2 TB M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 NVMe (MSFS), Crucial MX500 2TB (Other stuff) | CASE: Forgeon Arcanite ARGB Mesh Tower ATX White | Power Supply: Forgeon Bolt PSU 850W 80+ Gold Full Modular White

So we have stutters (new ones) and different CTD's than before.

Anyone got anything good to say about the Update?

Let's be ruthlessly AVSIM honest here.

I noticed better performances, first in the menu where my gpu doesn’t work so much it did before (60-65 %). In game (LFPG / A32NX) it stays around 80% which allows more frequency! The cpu also works a little more, nice !

Okay, that's No.1 - GPU usage has gone down to less than 99% - where it should be - after all, you paid good money for the GPU to sit there at near 100%. Anything less is a sign of a lack of game optimisation. (CPU should be hard at work between 55%-70%) If it ain't, you ain't "flying" your rig.

The GPU shouldn't be running at 100% on a menu, that makes no sense.

Though the menu also has the hangar with your currently selected plane in the background, so it isn't just a 2D thing.

At least the taxi lights aren't all over in wrong places and actually ON taxiways... on the airport... which is incorrect in the first place!  Improvement!? 🙂

I'm not saying it should, I'm saying in game.

Hey, Niagara Falls looks quite a bit better 🙂

That sounds like an improvement. Definitely had enough of running over taxiway lighting right in the middle of a turn or a threshold.

Good.

Well done on Atlanta Asobo!

And they got the elevation right at the Delta Maintenance facility! 🙂
