The current discussion around foilbles post-patches, the sense MS/Asobo isn't paying attention or acting on what is being suggested, the sense overall quality is deteriorating post initial release, are arguably valid concerns.  I'm curious though, would YOU have preferred to wait until 1, various issues such as AP/Garmin/ATC/Flight Characteristics/SDK were more fully mature and capable?  Or 2, do you prefer to be able to sample MSFS of Aug 18th, and standby to see how it evolves to that same endpoint in option 1 above?

Personally, I will vote option 2.  I've had a ball with MSFS so far, can easily see its shortcomings and look forward to it evolving to a more mature state.  MS/A has said, I read, they are in it for the 10y haul and will not forget hard-core simming folks' needs, which often ties in directly w/ 3rd party developer needs as well.

Great poll question and looking forward to the responses.  I'm also with you on option 2.  I went into this knowing full well it will take years before this sim meets it's ultimate potential.

Definitely opted for #2. If we waited longer the sim would've probably be about 6-18 months behind. I consider myself and others being an early access beta tester and with it being out in the public means that we have a much wider audience and community that can offer/submit feedback, suggestions, find problems, bugs, etc to help speed up the process.

No 2 here also, definitely. As mentioned above, drawing in mainstream audiences is the main reason.

Also, after Summer holiday and before Christmas seems to make sense especially with high volume games out there on the market.

I voted for #2. What good does option 1 give us? It must be much better that we are allowed to come in and express our opinions earlier in the development cycle. If you  don't like it now just uninstall it and come back next Christmas. That will give you option #1.

In the meantime the rest of us can stay here and criticize, complain, cheer, whine, complement and hopefully help improve the product.

I voted no .. I like others knew what i was paying for from day one . no complains here . What we all need is to understand Asobo is not like MS that had a background on the simulator scene .

And then now where we are in some cases instead of finding the right way to help them help us some take on the authority to pretty much talk down on asobo and the funny thing is must dont have a clue on how much work it takes to change something without breaking something else .

We on this community have a very Large group of people who think their opinion came out of the bible and think that if you dont agree with them you are the devil .  wonder sometimes if  some people understand that opening 57 new threads about for example  how the lighting is bad and after a patch they  come back later and complain about the same again WITHOUT EVER REPORTING TO ASOBO THE CORRECT WAY .

is like someone cooking a pie for the first time and asking for a opinion to make it better and instead you get the pie smashed all over your face from someone that does not even know how turn on a oven .

Voted 2, But i think the main point is not the issues you get with a new sim, it's the breaking of certain aircraft and systems that did work to a fashion before. This was not expected.

AMD Ryzen 7 5800x3d, MSI X570 Pro, 32 gb DDR4 3600 ram, Gigabyte 6800 16gb GPU, 1x 2tb Samsung  NvMe , 1x 2tb Sabrent NvME, 1x Crucial 4tb Nvme M2 Drive

Even if it was released 18 months up the road, there would be enough to complain about to keep a lot of people happy.

I am on Game Pass, and getting ready to purchase Premium Deluxe. I already have had more than $120.00 USD of fun, enjoyment, and sometimes frustration. Only deal breaker for me is if the sim does not launch. And so far besides the initial download issue's, that has not happened. And even that, I think it was cause I was not running the installer as Administrator, cause I just reinstalled it recently.

Bring on the Updates, I am ready, I think!

I'm glad the sim was released when it was. And I've been enjoying it tremendously. But I must confess, as a beta tester, to having been absolutely stunned when I first read the release-date announcement. Everyone was blindsided. There was no release-candidate testing at all among the beta testers.

I don’t currently use the sim. But look around every now and then. I just wait for the aircraft to be at a level I’m accustomed to

Why do you suppose that was David?

Voted #1. Now I would prefer to let MS/Asobo publish FS2020 for XBox+VR first and then start to develop FS2020 Pro for PC. 😀

I'm guessing that Microsoft was pressuring Asobo to release the sim early, both to provide an inflow of cash and to provide a broader field testing in preparation for the forthcoming Xbox release.

No2 - I can accept it's work in progress, and I'm looking forward to see how it matures.

However I still maintain MSFS was released earlier than planned.
