Replays in MSFS2020: Tool available in JAN2021 - FCR

Featured Replies

Good news,

There will be a replay tool available in January 2021, it is called Flight Control Replay.

I am not involved in the development, nor am I sponsored.
I am just participating in the closed beta an I got the permission to create a video for the community and use it in my streams.

I am not Stephen Spielberg, so don´t expect too much in terms of cinematics in my preview video.
However, the tool is actually really great! Watching MSFS2020 in replay and slow motion is sooo much more beautiful. This will enable video creators for so many great things - can´t wait for the release.

It also does much more then just recordings and replay (e.g. AI aircrafts for shots of formation flights, works in VR, automated camera changes, etc.).

Check out this video on youtube: Replays in MSFS2020: Flight Control Replay lets you record and replay your flights from different camera views

Cheers

Looks great and if there was to be permanently no other option, I'd consider buying it. However, I recall Asobo saying that replay feature was being worked on and should be ready soon(?). If that's the case, I would not see the advantage of this even though I can imagine how hard this was to develop given the limitations of the SDK.

I guess it will depend on how you use replay and how patient you are 🙂 I dont know what "in 2021" means in Asobo Standards, could be JAN - could be DEC.

Also, this tool probably targets users that want to create videos with it (e.g. automatically change camera views at pre-defined timestamp in the recording, Setup AI aircrafts in your recording to shoot formation flights, etc.).

But I agree, for only watching replays of your flight and if you are patient, hopefully MSFS will deliver a built in feature soon.

I am not patient, so for me it was already worth the 18€.

Cheers

Looks very good and like already said if there is no alternative on the horizon I’d probably buy this however, I really want to move away from buying software just to add functionality that should of been there from launch.

Looks good! However I would wait personally until the built in replay system is being available. If that system is similar like FSX and P3D, then I would definitely buy this addon. I just hope Asobo will make the replay system similar to X-Plane, very good and user friendly.

Good news. Seems to be a versatile tool which the most of us simmer were waiting for.

Looks fantastic.  Not sure I want a replay option though as I don't want to see just how awful my landings actually are.  Hehehe...

Very cool. But 1995 wants it's GUI back 🙂

I think the GUI is nice compared to some of the things out there.

I

How much data does it store? Lets say 1 hour flight in the A320.

Does the file size depend on your graphical settings and resolution, or does it just store the direction, speed and state of the aircraft?

Can replays be shared with other users?

Seems amazing!

Definite pick up for me! Thanks for letting us know!

Good stuff!

The big question:

How does the recording effect frame rates???

That will make or brake it for me.

Most of what is said on the Internet may be the same thing they shovel on the regular basis at the local barn.

Same as during the flight I think. It just records inputs to the plane, so the sim doesn't differentiate between replay and live.

This looks really cool!  Something I have definitely missed.  I think I spend more time watching the replays than flying in XPlane/P3D.
