January 29, 20215 yr The engine start issues are curious. I assume the prop turns but it never fires up. Has anyone tried just editing the aircraft.cfg and increasing normalise_starter_ torque and potentially tweaking a longer cranking time ?

January 29, 20215 yr For those having issues with their code, try this: Copy the entire code, fire up Notepad and paste it into that, then when the installer asks for the three sections of code, highlight the first bit in Notepad, copy it and paste it into the first box, then do the same for the other two bits, one at a time. The reason to do this is that you will more easily be able to see that you have only copied the numbers and not picked up any weird unicode stuff, or accidentally highlighted a space or something when copying it. January 29, 20215 yr I had the installer problem too. Since I have the steam msfs version, I ticked that choice. Since that did not work, I ticked the msfs version and my code worked. You just have to direct the install to your community folder in steam or anywhere you can find it and copy it to the community folder. Hope this helps someone.

I just read that in the msfs forums and came to share. You beat me to it. Thanks. MSFS
January 29, 20215 yr I'd like to thank SD_Flyer for bringing this to my attention Chock and others for taking the plunge on this and feeding back to here. Based on the information presented, sadly I will not be purchasing, much as I have a soft spot for the TB20 family. I already own the JustFlight Trinidad and Tobago for P3D (with RXP GTN750 retrofitted) and I have big issues with the way it flies; it seems far too slippery and has an alarming tendency to try and roll you into the ground upon rotation, amongst other things. Visually I always felt the cockpit textures were a bit odd too (yes I know the TB20 has horrible textured and coated trim panels) but at least everything was sharp and crisp. I don't think I can take another let down in a TB21 shape; the Lionheart one is very evidently a port of something that started life way back in DX9 FSX. The exterior visuals are acceptable to me as I spend most of my time in the cockpit, but I couldn't bare to look at the panel or its instruments for any length of time - the JF one was much nicer! Overall the LH looks rather jarring in MFS's shiny world. Coupled with LH not supporting many basic MFS functions like an engine starter(!) and icing and £20 is a very steep price; much as I appreciate Chock's comments about there being an incomplete SDK and LH needing to periodically update the product to keep it compatible with MFS, I've been stung one time too many by promises of future development and encourage all to base their purchasing decision on what's being offered today - and what's being offered would have felt outdated 4 years ago in P3Dv4. LH and JF similarly broke my heart with the DR400, I wanted the systems from one and visuals from the other so in the end I elected not to buy. Then MFS gave me an achey breaky heart by choosing to simulate the worst of the DR400 family. Perhaps I need to stop lusting after pretty and powerful single piston props? It too sometimes renders the pilots sticking out of the cockpit on its external views and it too has the odd glitch on its internal systems switches. Don't get me wrong, I bought it and I still think it has loads of plus points which make that worth having as well, but there's barely been a TPD payware aeroplane released for MSFS which hasn't either had to compromise in some way or other, or which had something which needed, or still needs patching. From jet fighters which which can't break the sound barrier, to trainers which don't have working radios, we're not exactly getting the cream of the crop at the moment. I'm sure it came as a surprise to many to find that the one developer you could rely on to have solved most of these problems quicker than anyone else, and patch them too, was Carenado of all companies. But in a year where we've had all kinds of bonkers stuff, from the still-ongoing lockdown, to raids on the US Congress with the Confederate battle flag making it into the building - the real Confederate Army didn't even manage that one back in 1865 lol - so I guess it should come as no surprise at all. 🤣 Edited January 29, 20215 yr by Chock Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
January 29, 20215 yr Thanks to the advice with the installer. Got it to work now but hadn't had the time to fly yet. Just had a little runup at the stand. Is it just me or is the view up front very limited? Reminds me a bit of the DA62. Intel i9-13900K | Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Master | RTX4090 | 2x16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5-6000 | Be quiet! By default, yes the view is not good, but that's a bit misleading, the real thing is pretty roomy and does have very good visibility. Part of that roomy feeling is because there's a fair bit of headspace in the Trinidad, which enables very tall pilots to have their noggin up in the space that extends above the top of the windscreen. However, for most people, the fact that the windscreen is very raked back, means you can get a good view ahead and upward even without leaning forwards. In addition to this, the design of the gull-winged side doors with windows which extend down to your elbows and up into the roof space, and the windscreen's excellent lower three quarters view downwards, means that in the real thing, it feels light and airy and has excellent visibility in turns, probably better than most GA aeroplanes in fact and only really surpassed by types which either have windows in the entire door, such as the Kitfox, or those which can either have the doors completely removed for flight, such as the Cessna 152A, or those which can fly with the canopy open, such as the Tecnam Sierra. So you may need to assign some view movement keys to sort things out a bit, since many of the view movement options in MSFS are not assigned by default. Or, shift your view about with Track IR/VR and you'll get a better idea of how good the visibility is in the real Trinidad, it's actually one of the reasons why I like the real thing so much, as I'm used to flying gliders a lot and they always have a big blister canopy with great visibility, so I really tend to notice the GA aeroplanes which offer decent visibility. So what I would do if I were you, is turn your head view to the side, then shunt the view back and down a little bit until it looks like your head would be on the headrest, then turn the view to the front and adjust the zoom. That's what the second view down below is, and if you compare it to the first (default) view, you can see why it feels restricted in the sim on that default view. Here's the default cockpit view, which is very restricted: Here's a typical view which is more like what you experience in the real thing: Edited January 29, 20215 yr by Chock Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

January 29, 20215 yr Thanks Alan for your tip, I finally could install it by choosing the MSFS option in the installer, even though I use MSFS Steam. I could enter and validate my code. I knew what to expect, I knew it is an FSX port, but I am a little disappointed for the following reasons: The cockpit lighting is not controllable, we all knew this, but I didn't think the Garmin buttons were so bright (as seen on your screenshots). They are so bright that they become unreadable. The dashboard lighting is linked to the NAV lights, like in the old days of fs9/FSX, not something you would expect today. You can move around, but unlike in the "modern" MSFS aircraft, you can move outside of the aircraft. You can move to the left wingtip to see your aircraft from outside. I like the limits that were brought by MSFS to avoid that (use the drone if you wish to see your aircraft from outside), I regret it was not done here. I can understand it is not documented in the SDK. In other words, I think Lionheart should have waited a little more before releasing this product, wait for a more complete SDK that would allow them to release a pure MSFS aircraft. Now let's hope they will update the product when the SDK will be fully released, if it is one day... My Web Site
