Wow!  Lots of good fixes and additions - a responsive developer or what?

If I can find somewhere to fly without the pausing / performance issues (apparently New Zealand isn't too bad), I might buy this today.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

I'd say it's probably easier to fly than it should be really. You don't seem to have to trim the rudder much at all no matter what speed you're going at. Engine torque doesn't seem to affect anything once you're off the ground. You can being going along at e.g. 2800 and 4lb boost and then jam it immediately up to 18lbs and this doesn't result in the aircraft rolling which normally you would need to counter with the rudder or rudder trim. There's no pre-stall buffet either when the real one had a pretty pronounced one.

Hmmm... you may have talked  me out of it.

Although it sounds like they've tried to improve realism with the update. Staying tuned to this channel!!

OK.  Bought it!  I already know I will like it.    Some nice changes in the v1.01 patch, and some interesting and lovely repaints coming out at flightsim.to I notice!

With the addition of a Paint Kit in Update #1, I suspect there will be quite a few to choose from shortly.😃

BTW, even after the update I find I have to be very gentle on the controls for a take off & look for that into wind opportunity.

i like this video:

If you are using the Keyboard Autopilot tweak then the Update has AP Disabled in the engines.cfg file.

Need to change:

DisableAutopilotControls=1, substitute 0 for the 1.

I have a fair bit of Battle of Britain "memorabilia" and have worked at the old 10 Group RAF HQ since I left the Navy. I get invited to display all that I have at the annual BoB Mess Dinner. Both Officers and WO's & Senior Rates Mess.

Here we have my very own "silver" Spitfire, sat on a mirrored rotating table. During the various meetings pre-dinner, I mentioned to all those gentlemen present. "Did you know, this place was 10 Group HQ during the Battle, and worked very, very closely with 11 Group? They didn't! But they do now. They went in to the tunnels, here and found the old "Command Board".

Oh wow, some tuning done with the help of @GotGravel?   That's super, GG, thanks for helping to make so many awesome planes even awesomer!

Looking forward to taking this update out of the hangar later on today.

Rhubarbs & Rodeo's were made from here. Home to Spitfires, Hurricanes & Typhoons.

RAF Tangmere. A visit from a 2017. My gratitude to all those that protected us.

I did a little flight around Walney Island. Lots of wind, the plane felt so slow, I thought I would never reach the airport. Next time I'll probably hit the centerline. 🙂
I played in 4k, recording is 1080p and not very crisp.

Rambling time!

After I saw the update I knew it was time to finally spring for this plane. I've been flying about an hour now and I'm really enjoying it. Compared to the other planes available around this price, I'd say she firmly punches above weight. I don't have my rudder pedals hooked up at the moment due to a changing desk situation, so takeoff was extremely challenging with a twist rudder. I feel like that might be overdone just a hair, but I won't really know until I get the pedals going again. The different sounds range from average to good, though I think the volume or mixing could use some adjustment. You might be a tad disappointed if you're expecting accu-sim levels of systems implementation, but you also didn't pay 50 bucks or wait a considerable amount of time. I think my biggest complaint is how "mushy" she feels up until about 200 mph. Considering the size of the control surfaces and the wing I wouldn't expect it to feel that way, but I can't pretend to know how she flies in real life. I'll probably check the Googles after this to see what it knows.

Looking forward to see what the dev does to improve her further. Will also pay close attention to any future releases. All things considered I'll give her a solid "B" grade right now.
