As I understood from my reading, it simply looks complicated to me to wait something like 10 minutes for an initial setup of this add-on. For that reason, what I'm saying is that I prefer to see first how the installation goes for the first purchasers. That's all. February 27, 20215 yr I know nothing about coding but why is Asobo being criticised for the 10 minute C++ conversion to WASM? Surely that is all on Aerosoft? They are the ones that created the CRJ using C++ are they not? Credit to Asobo for making such functionality available to allow developers to take these easy (for them) paths to coding add-ons. February 27, 20215 yr I do know a thing or two about a thing or two (and that's about the extent of it and them) but I don't think I've heard a more avsim like thread in at least a week. WHO CARES? I can tell you I have NEVER factored in the installation time OR the requisite process involved in said installation (i.e. what gyrations the installer must do to unpack and deposit its payload) in my decision to use or recommend software. From ERP systems to EHRs to porn blocking software to Exchange, SQL, SMS (good ole days) its always been the end result. Professionally and personally so long as the installation isn't performing tasks that are either unwanted, unsafe, or un-undoable (without manual work) I fail to see the rationale behind making a judgement about the merits of a product based on such a removed and arbitrary one time operation. SMH - avsim is avsim, brilliant and tnaillirb simultaneously. Superpositional, as it were. Quantavsim.com

Based on comments by the FlyByWire developers in the thread on the Aerosoft forums, any addon using WASM has to get compiled on first run (and possibly every sim update). The A32NX mod takes 1-2 minutes. It's Asobo's choice of WASM as the only way to do C++ that causes this. AMD 3950X | 64GB RAM | AMD 5700XT | CH Fighterstick / Pro Throttle / Pro Pedals
