Bonaire - First True to Life Animated People Airport Addon!

Featured Replies

Airport looks great, but with the animated people - we are not quite there yet. They walk and move like zombies..... but its a start

Most of what is said on the Internet may be the same thing they shovel on the regular basis at the local barn.

They walk a bit like me the next morning after after a few beers and a spicy curry!

Definitely progress though 😊

I find in general MSFS airport addons a bit too sterile especially considering how great they look in terms of graphics. It makes my brain feel something is not right that it looks so real in the bricks and mortar but completely void of life or atmosphere with no passengers around (and of course no real A.I. traffic).

Thanks for putting in words something I’ve been trying to put my finger on! It really is a sort of uncanny valley effect. The buildings look more real than ever, but that makes the lack of people/movement much more obvious in a way that never bothered us in FSX/P3D.

...on the way to the bathroom, asking themself, am I going to make it?

But wait... No anguished cries about resources? Like when anybody mentions damage modeling?

Hmmmmmmmm.......

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

and the latest Quiberon airport, which has a bit more of them

This is fantastic, I wish you did more smallish airports like Quiberon

Do you think once you complete a set of animated characters you could add some to your existing MSFS airports like KORD, Basel, Vancouver etc. as part of their aiport package (aside from GSX)? That would be awesome and really bring your already excellent airport addons to life.

Those were always provided by GSX, once we'll have GSX in MSFS, they'll be back, together with all the missing features which were also provided by GSX, like Docking systems.

Apart from the greatness of what GSX does, I meant more so having passengers inside the terminal buildings that have already been modelled as well as around the airport entrance exteriors (similar to what you did in Key West) like Aerosoft have done with Bonaire. If airport interiors are being modelled as well as the exterior of airports, it makes sense to add animated people there to in order to bring it to life. An empty terminal looks rather odd especially when the tech is there, and dare I say it, I doubt very much it uses many additional hardware resources overall.

Now if they could just make the disembarking passenger's a little less robotic this would be perfect!

Maybe if said passengers looked like they were struggling with too many carry-on bags and tugging an oversized luggage box, they’d feel more real.

No airport is complete without at least one passenger lugging around more than they ought to be

I dont know any pilot who hoovers about 30 feet in the air behind his aircraft watching passengers, who look if they just stepped out of a 1930 SF movie, disembark.

Although it looks nice I feel it's of no added value (to me)

Yep. that is indeed a very long flight.

I think there are a few folks in Amsterdam who wouldn't mind taking that flight right now.  🙂

I like these sort of features. It is the reason I paid for Key West.  The beach party at the threshold of Juliana St Maarten is the main reason I bought that airport (well pack really now they have added buildings to the adjoining airport with the update) .   The (currently unanimated) cows and Hot Air balloons at LFKL Brindas is the reason I bought that addon. Gimmicky? maybe but for me it adds interest and even immersion.

It's all about realism and this is another added level to the great basic sim provided by MSFS.
