Global AI Ship Traffic Tomorrow!

Featured Replies

I've had this addon installed virtually since it was released but the models I see in videos and screenshots seem a lit more detailed than the ones I see when flying in MSFS (might just be my eyes though).  The traffic is there, but seems quite low rez and lacking in detail.  Just wondering why I am having this issue - could anyone shed light on this?

Running everything at ultra settings with an RTX3070 and 5600x BTW so reasonably specced.

Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)

In the sim, is there one stuck in the Suez? That would be cool, along with a few 100 ships at anchor on either side of the entrance.

@cianpars if you have not more than 6% on the slider, you will have limited MSFS vessels. These vessels are bland. Global ai ship traffic are detailed, will always have a name and port of registry and possibly a flag:)

The models in the screenshots are the ones in the package - no marketing cheating needed - it is freeware - try to take a flight  from Calais to Dover - if the models you see are not detailed as the ones in the screenshots something in either setting or installation will be wrong - feel free to post a screenshot with what you see.in order to guide you.

The mods ask you to turn ship/ferry traffic down to 5-6%. The reason being is so that not many of the default MSFS bland ships will show with that setting and almost all of the ships showing will then be from the mod.

Has anyone checked out the Suez Canal traffic jam?

It wouldn't be there, these are pre-made AI plans, not live traffic.

I just have to put one in the positive column; love this mod, and am grateful that you shared it with the unwashed masses! 😉

I will turn down the AI ship traffic and have a look again.  I flew across the Dover straight yesterday and saw a P&O ferry that looked decent.  I think it's either a case that I've been seeing a lot of freight traffic that looks a bit bland anyway or that I have been seeing some MS default traffic.

I was under the impression that the shipping traffic slider controlled the amount of shipping the addon would show.

@cianparsGlobal ai only requires 5-6% slider and will provide maximum show of Global ai traffic. This will give the default ai vessels a minimum number. Ah, it's Dover Strait!

I only have time to fly in the evenings, so being able to change time in the sim is important to me, so unfortunately I have to uninstall this.

Change the time before you start the flight then. There's a slider bottom left of the map (and also one if you click on the weather tab to the top right of the map)

And is the lag really that bad? It only lasts about a second for me.

That doesn't work if you use Live Weather.
