Just Flight PA-28R Arrow III (for MSFS) released

So there is an interesting thread on the MSFS forums claiming you need to always turn off the pad before making it invisible because if you leave it turned on, it has a big effect on FPS even when invisible:

Someone said it changed the FPS by 1 FPS.. Not a big effect, I would say.

This is a quote from someone that tested it.

"I just tested this myself. the FPS increase was 1fps by turning it off. Sitting at Innsbruck on the runway with snow (Live WX) FPS went from 50-51 to 51-52. (4k ultra textures, most things on ultra, a couple of things are 1 notch down that had no visual impact from a guide I found awhile ago)."

It probably depends on what kind of hardware and settings you use, I save about 5 fps in Ultra settings, but that was at an airport affected by the patch, maybe it is less under normal conditions.

I did two flights today in NZ the only place to fly atm. The first it worked fine and ATC was happy the second time doing the same ATC cancelled on me.

So I have idea, after start set to SBY, take off ON, ATC call set to ALT, ATC....your transponder is not working.

Same thing, the transponder is working, for example you can request a flight following and everything is fine, but when I get transferred the next station doesn't see the transponder with the same squak.

My suspicion is it will be more in CPU limited scenarios and less when you are in a GPU limited situation.

So here's what I'm talking about with jitters. Identical scenario - KDAN Rwy 18, wind 230@8. Live Weather setting.

Notice even sitting on the runway the plane tousles and squeaks. Too dramatic for an 8kt wind. Then on climbout you can see that, while the 172 seems to hit pockets of air and move smoothly... like riding waves... the Arrow jerks around like, well, Elaine's dancing.

Yes.  I get exactly the same fidgeting.  Not a control issue, and I don't get it with any other aircraft.  Have they modelled engine vibration do you think?

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

I have quite a few hours piloting real SEL aircraft, and what I see in the Arrow 3 cockpit seems pretty normal to me.

If it was engine vibration you would expect it to be there all the time.  I get it sometimes (e.g. with only a 4 knot wind 40 degrees off the nose a couple of days ago) but it's smooth most other times.

In every PA-28 I've ever been in, I'd have been thinking something was wrong if it wasn't shaking. 🤣

Yup, alot of moving parts attached to the firewall.

I had hoped they had modelled engine vibration, but nor sure that they have succeeded.  A2A's PA28 (and their Comanche and Bonanza) all did an excellent job of modelling engine vibration. If JF has tried to model engine vibration they should fly A2A's PA28 in P3D to see how it can be done. Engine vibration in the cockpit looks like a rather high frequency vibration, sometimes sort of buzzing, of instrument panel knobs, needles, and other components. (I was impressed with this a few years ago when I was taking lessons in a real PA28 Warrior. The instrument panel vibrated quite a lot particularly when idling and as the throttle increases.) JF's cockpit vibration, if that's what they want it to be, is a sort of lazy shaking, not vibration. Anyway, we know it's not an A2A, but it is still a very good PA28, and I do like it a lot. But I wish that JF would take a look to simulate accurate cockpit engine vibrations in a future update. It would make a very good PA28 even more immersive..

True, but if they can’t sort it out then I figure I’ll ask for a refund and then buy it from the MS marketplace when it comes out.

@Gilandred solution found! The problem is that our JF Arrow III setup is not creating the "userfile.txt" for some reason. The JF support team created my userfile, I put it where it belongs and "security failure" issue was solved! Hope it helps you and others that could be experiencing this issue!

Yes thank you for that update.  JF had to do the same for me and now it works.  Hopefully they can figure out why it doesn’t create the userinfo.txt file (which contains the license data) for some users.

I was just trying to lean at 4000 ft, and the EGT didn't move at all. I then unlocked the mixture lever, and it leaned properly. Anyone else see this?

HI all, any word on when a patch will be available for the Arrow?
