Still the same performance as before Tuesday's update. Fingers crossed, but I may also NOW be in the works fine camp. My crash appeared to be a false positive from upgrading my CPU it reset some BIOS junk. Though I am getting tearing, but I'm sure that's related to my Nvidia settings being reset after installing new video driver. Same thing for me, I’ve never suffered from Limited by Main Thread until after this update. March 11, 20215 yr So. It looks like the root cause are Steam Server issue and not MSFS. https://fsprocedures.com Your home for all flight simulator related checklist.
March 11, 20215 yr Definitely something going on. My 3700X is getting about 20% more usage than normal, but I'm getting lower FPS. In the middle of nowhere at KLHM in a C152 I'm getting mid-40's in external view. Weirdly just down the way at KSAC which is in a city, I get actually closer to 60. CPU usage is at like 60% with many much more active cores than before yesterday where it was usually in the 30%'s. This is just weird for sure. I saw the livestream where they said they were aware of some things and might look at a patch, hopefully they actually do. V sync has never had much, if any real affect on any of my systems up until now. Since the recent updates though, it has to be switched on otherwise the screen teating when panning views is terrible. Up until now, I've locked at 60 fps or even unlimited but now locking at 30 fps, though it doesn't seem to help much. I made some screenshots of my Nvidia and in game video settings a few weeks back just as I got the sim running perfectly - I will have to take a look to see if there are any changes, though nothing seemed different from a quick glance Edited March 11, 20215 yr by cianpars Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)
March 11, 20215 yr I am seeing some NEW issues in Developer Mode too for this update, like disappearing roads and taxiways that I've never seen before. Seems like there is some caching issue with the "secret cache", maybe it is affecting the overall game too. Edited March 11, 20215 yr by Alpine Scenery AMD 5800x | Nvidia 3080 (12gb) | 64gb ram
March 11, 20215 yr set my ingame v-sync to 60 fps (up from 30) and seems much smoother now from at simflights's EDDM, currently climbing towards justsim's EDDH for my first landing there. dev modded neo as usual. fingers crossed here as well. no fps/v-sync seetings in nvidia control panel btw. and best thing: still not one single CTD, so my fun journey after WU3 continues even with SU3.... March 11, 20215 yr I've set V-Sync ON to 60 fps locked and have to see yet any fps loss after the Sim Update 3. Only thing strange to me is the LOD issue introduced by Asobo, partially solved by using a Mod that rectifies it in some way (look for other thread here at Avsim), and that can be also adjusted. Those with stutters, pauses and sudden fps losses, please check if you have also installed a conflicting add-on. I had to uninstall the Global AI Ships Traffic add-on that was released last week on my both setups due to the way it interacts with the sim, i.e., converting models and writing to disk as they are being used in the simulator, and this was not good. March 11, 20215 yr I've switched to dev mode to find out if my add-ons are causing Limited by Main Thread issue of stuttering. So , removed them all, switched to LOW-END ans still 0.5 up to 2 sec of stuttering because of main thread. So definetly something wrong with new update. Edited March 11, 20215 yr by V1-Rotate

I also set v sync to 60 this morning and had a decent flight from Glasgow to Inverness via Edinburgh and Aberdeen. No issues to report, but Scotland is not too heavy on the scenery front. I would like to say that the scenery eas very nice and the quality of the 4 default airports along with the cities was really good and better than I was expecting. Must drop down into Dundee next time I fly up there as I like the look of the airport by the Waterside from the air. A great addon though. Perhaps it can be optimised a little in the next version. You are right though about addons in general and if you have issues, one of the first things to do is to clear out your community folder and reboot before retesting. March 11, 20215 yr Oh Boy, Here we go again. I was thinking about doing the update today. Will be interesting to see what happens. I truly wish there was a way that we could be given the option not to do the update immediately, at least that way you can make the choice rather than be forced into an update that breaks a working sim. So glad I still have an alternative sim that just works flawlessly every time and lets me enjoy my hobby while MSFS goes off the rails. Perhaps it can be optimised a little in the next version. You are right though about addons in general and if you have issues, one of the first things to do is to clear out your community folder and reboot before retesting. The Global AI Ship is heavy in the sense it still uses FSX/P3D models that have to be converted for their use with MSFS and the trick is internally done in the sim while you fly. Depending on the area you're on, it could make dozens of ship models to be converted (and written to your disk) at the same time you're flying the area, thus causing pauses and severe stuttering. I hope it'll be optimized too, making native models for MSFS, but I recognize this would represent a huge effort from the model developers. In my opinion, people tend to put a lot of stuff in their Community Folder without knowing about possible negative interactions between the add-ons and the sim. The results are long loading times, CTDs, performance loss, etc. When I installed MSFS for the first time and knew about the Community Folder I thought a good number of folders inside would be around 100, and now, even taking some precaution, I reach 400 folders and 80 GB of data on it, and nobody certainly knows anything about the limit.
