March 20, 20215 yr My Gigabyte Aorus RTX 3090 Extreme 24G was EUR2400. Really insane to ask that amount of money, but i am insane to pay it. I can afford it (corona-> no winter sports with the kids). Better framerate than my 2070, but still not 100% satisfied. Hm. And maybe I will buy a 10850K plus motherboard. March 20, 20215 yr I've had a sneaking suspicion 3090K paired w/ my 9900K@5gHz would largely be underwhelming in terms of value, well insane is the word. I would love to have a 3080 Ti w/ 12Gb which should be about right for this CPU in MSFS and P3D but those don't exist. If I found a 3090 for retail price I'd do it though. March 21, 20215 yr So does anyone know where we can get one of these cards? They're sold out everywhere. I guess I'm new to the news but is it expected that these cards will be available before the heat death of the Observable Universe? Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory. The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire. To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune. There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you. It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

No. I got lucky on Amazon over a month ago and paid a ridiculous $2100, now it's over $3000. It's not worth it atm. March 22, 20215 yr I have a 5800x and a 3080 FTW ultra. Came from a 1080 ti and a 3700x. I probably gained about 10-15FPS avg @ 4k and mostly high settings. I wouldnt pay the cost to upgrade at this time. I got lucky and only paid 1200 for my 3080 which was a rip then and now its an even bigger rip. The sim is CPU bound and still requires heavy CPU horsepower, but that hopefully can be reduced with some optimizations. 7900x3d , 64gb 6200mhz 30CL Ram, RTX 3080
March 22, 20215 yr If you are going to pay the outrageous scalper prices and reward those that are causing the shortage and high prices to begin with, then why not just buy a new system? You can get new systems with 30 series cards in them that aren't marked up by scalpers for not much more and not reward the scalpers at the same time. James
March 22, 20215 yr The problem has bled over onto fully built gaming PC's as well. That said, there are SOME options. You can get an HP with an RTX 2060 from for an ok price, just under $1500 total. The best deal I've seen is a CyberPower PC with an RTX 3060 (12GB version), but it seems this is vanilla RTX 3060 not the TI (big diff), but hard to tell. Both those are ok, IF you actually need a new PC. However, if you don't, then it's waste of money either way. Any PC with 3070, AMD 6800 or higher is going to run well over $2,000 still (for the most part), usually $2,500+ once all is said and done.
