April 10, 20215 yr MSFS 2020 was released roughly 8 months ago. Of course it has teething problems, ranging from mildly annoying to really annoying (the fact that on the G1X and G3X you need to load and activate an approach before hitting the iaf is REALLY annoying). That said, MSFS game out of the gate swinging and Mike Tysoned the other flight sims, who will gradually be reduced to being niche products. In a a couple of years MSFS will be the only viable flightsimulator platform. If this is good or bad - on that the jury is still out.
April 10, 20215 yr Can it be awesome? Yes it can, there are times when the sun is setting and in VR it's immersion is breathtaking. But it can also be a pile of absolute dogs doo doo at times, 8 months on and frankly the Sim has gone backwards not forwards in that time. Hopefully it'll start moving towards overall Awesome in the future, but it won't be anytime soon, we're in this for the long haul and that's if Asobo get a handle on things. It might have been even more emblematic had you used, in your above post, font size 48 for the word "if". i7-12700K; GF RTX 3080Ti 12 GB; MSI Z690 MB; 32 GB DDR5 4800Mhz (16x2); 850W 80+ Gold PS; 1 TB M.2 NVMe SSD + 2 TB HDD @ 7200 + Kingston 4TB XS2000 USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Ext. April 10, 20215 yr Like most of us here I'm on a downer about MSFS right now. But last night I showed it to a friend, flying over his local neighbourhood. "I know where we are" he said, pointing out local landmarks. "There's my house!" For me I was thinking about the word not allowed weather jerks as we passed a cell boundary and how much of a boot full of rudder to give it on touchdown. For him, it was the magic of seeing a digital twin of the hills and coastline and buildings of his hometown, rendered faithfully enough for him to recognise landmarks he'd only ever seen from the ground. Awesome is subjective. i7-10700K; RTX 2070 Super; 16GB; P3Dv4.5HF3 & MSFS2020.
April 10, 20215 yr Guys, msfs IS awesome the moment earosoft published their first semi-complex airliner. For the first time in msfs Im now able to fly in a rather realistic manner a realistic airliner the way i was used to in p3d. There is no way i could go back to p3d let alone fsx. Think about it: we got the whole world to fly to in photorealistic detail, even all the default airports look almost like payware compared to p3d. And it can only become better in de next months/years from now as more developers publish airliners to fly in.

It is an unfinished product with notable deficiencies and aggravating bugs which can give a wonderful experience of flying when everything goes right. April 10, 20215 yr Some people really get triggered and bent out of shape by this game. I still don't understand why. I mean, if you're not happy, put the thing aside and do something else: play another game, etc. Why torture and flagellate yourself over a few pixels? Edited April 10, 20215 yr by Ricardo41
April 10, 20215 yr Works fine for me but do not tell anyone they will get upset. You are asking on the wrong forum anyone that likes the game left long ago 😄

April 10, 20215 yr I‘ve had moments of disillusionment as well and I‘m still all tensed up before an update. The hardest bit was to accept that the development is much slower than I’d expected. Also the new bugs that are introduced with every update and then often not fixed for weeks or months gnaw at my confidence in the progress of this project. Then again, I’ve had some of the best simming experiences in this sim (I‘ve been simming since FS95). There were moments that let me forget about all the flaws and just left me in complete awe. Especially VR was a revelation. Even though this sim can be incredibly frustrating I still enjoy it a lot and I’m actually flying more often than ever. So yes, I do think it is awesome. And at the same time it isn‘t. It could be much better and hopefully it will be sooner rather than later, but it still offers enough „awesomeness“ for me to keep me hooked. April 10, 20215 yr Awesome? It needs a lot of work to become "awesome". The pre-release videos and pix were awesome propaganda. No one expected perfection, but MSFS came up short and it is still short. No doubt, in a couple of years it will improve. It certainly has the potential. Jim Morgan
