Yes they do. Simple as that. They’ve known for 6 hours. Edited July 22, 20214 yr by Ianrivaldosmith

It's absolutely infuriating. I have never had a single problem with performance and instead I have seen the visuals get worse and worse with every update. All to try and appease people complaining about performance, which I suspect is due to them using inappropriate settings on an inappropriate PC. I saved for a long time so I could get the best PC I could to run the sim on the highest settings and the decrease in quality in the way the same looks is so galling. The visuals really are the only reason to use this sim above others, and with them getting worse and worse this reason is shrinking. Please asobo please increase the graphics to how they wee on release when every flight I thought WOW this looks stunning, now it just doesn't look anywhere near as good, blurry textures, trees in a tight circle around the aircraft, water quality lower, clouds quality lower. Never have the WOW moments. Sad. This is 100% my experience as well. The sim looks nowhere near as beautiful as it did at release. Textures are more grainy and blurry now than before. And with every update they break things that takes one or two more updates to fix. Like the trees. It's been months. I know the update to fix it is coming, but it sounds like it's bringing a lot of new bugs with it. All praise the Xbox arcade simulator future. I've reported it to Microsoft as many of people in this thread have breach their NDA. Thanks - That's really useful! You are a proper hero. Here is a gold star just for you... If you can't see it, you need to get closer to the screen. It 's just a LOD problem and should pop up as you get closer. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. I thought all of the LOD work was done in the model's xml file and there had to be a separate and specifically named model for each one. This is another rather large turn off if it's the case as upload and download sizes will balloon. It’s up to the developer to create separate xml files for sure … BUT … it’s also up to the developer to designate what gets used for each level of detail. As per the SDK example, a developer SHOULD follow the guidelines as stated. But if you’re just looking for a quick patch to get your scenery working with SU5 if would think you could simply force the issue by following the example but only specifying one LOD. Per the spec this would be used no matter what the screen size and would hopefully prevent the software from popping your geo in too late. A savvy developer could script this to get their add on back in working order quickly. This would be a stop gap to patch addons that are suddenly not working with the new release. Developers really should use the LOD functionality to allow everyone to get the best performance no matter how many addons they use, but I would hope my suggestion would buy them time to do it properly.

July 22, 20214 yr Now we're once again chasing a new update which is breaking things again on a much larger scale (Sim Update V). Instead of patching things from previous MSFS updates, I'm now patching things for a future update.. which is the reason why this fix has taken so long. https://forum.flightbeam.net/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=3875

Right. I think I get it now. Just purely add something to the XML of the existing model to fool the sim.

I tried learning a 2nd language (Japanese) and after half a decade and >1,000 hours I gave up. I have mad respect for anyone who learns a second language. Those of you who know three or more? Geniuses the lot of you. Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory. The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire. To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune. There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you. It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

My wife is Hungarian, and for the life of me it’s a mission to construct a sentence. However my 2 year old understands it no problems as does the 8 year old, who speaks it too. As well as English. I’m so envious.
