Series S, I forgot the name of the previous version.

The Series X and Series S are both the current generation of Xbox console. Xbox One was the previous one, and I don't think theism is available for them.

With the latest update being "mandatory" this proves they are pandering to the xbox/console users.

I don't think this proves they are pandering to console users at all. This is more an issue of modern gaming, especially games tied to online servers. Plenty of gamers get frustrated too by having to install updates on either console or PC when they just want to sit down and play a quick round. Lots of memes over the years from it.

It's funny how some people seem to be scared of the introduction of xbox, if anything it will bring even more development and money into this genre. This means more talented developers, fantastic addons and a constantly improving core sim. The PC market will always benefit as it has done this time with this performance update. What's to complain about really? As to demonstrate further testament to the PC version we have such addons as the Fenix A320 to look forward to along with the entire PMDG lineup. The future is exciting.

I imagine if you count all the X box users, versus PC simmers using MSFS, the potential for profit focusing on the X box base  is huge. This is just good business sense by Microsoft. They used the PC users to help  tweak and correct some problems in MSFS, and now they feel that it is ready to release on Xbox. I think many of us realized long ago that this was going to eventually happen.

Take it easy fellas. I too was in this mode.

I realize this is the best option.  All is not lost. This is the only way they can manage this.

Its not hard. Every time I run into issues its irrorating, Once it is solved, it works like a charm. Be Patient.

The other option is you always have the choice of going P3D V5.

Does it seem like this to anyone else… that the sim visuals actually peaked at launch and have slowly deteriorated over the last year?

This thread is going to or has caused alot of groupthink.. seeing as some are still in the process of downloading but heading out to the shed to grab their pitchfork. 🙄 So far I give this update a 9/10. It was massive yet still seems to great overall.

true i'm old school (90's) although I am greatful for this beautiful sim when it works good.  I remember dreaming of playing a flight simulator as beautiful looking as MSFS2020 when I was a kid.

Kind regards,

Yes, the autogen rendered when I first played the sim was much better than what is being rendered now. I guess they did it slowly over time to not word not allowed off people? 😅

Small point of order... There is no such thing as "Group Think" in the flight sim community.  There hasn't been since the very start.  🙂

I'm out!

hard to tell unless you can see the sim side-by-side a year ago vs today.... I just know I've been happy with mine for the last few months.
