I guess as long as you don't open General Graphics settings you'r good to go. I tried 400/400 and voila, my RTX 2070 Super got nailed! Panning was a nightmare and I was up to 8Gb and 99% at Roman Designs CYOW! I had to abort and even at the much easier KBJC it was too much, so back to 300/300. I think I'll keep the 3080 Ti! Well, maybe there's a work around but it there appears to be a realtime optimizer calibrated for lower LOD. When I go to even LOD 300 panning is choppy and frame rate during panning goes down to the low 20's from 30. Or, it's possible the VRAM cache for panning is too small to accommodate higher LOD. 200 is good in terms of panning. But there is some promise for sure. In fact, those RTX 3090's may come into play yet Noel, I still need to change from low to ultra but if you use custom settings then I only need to do the building dance. 400/400 was super smooth when paning around and what redraw I saw was from were 200 seem to end so was great. With a 2070 am sure you have found your cards tipping point as my GPU was still only around 60% in use. I think that 3080Ti could make all the difference. I wish you well. David Murden. When you change from low to ultra and apply settings, how do you end up with 400 when Ultra is 200? And what is the 'building dance'? In the graphics, I don’t change to LOW preset then to Ultra. I now only charge Building to LOW>Save….Change building to ULTRA >Save (the building dance) Change any setting to make your setting preset Custom, then you config will read like this. then only to the building dance. August 8, 20214 yr First look at MSFS with SU5 HF2....wow the sim looks so good again.... Anyway I did this test for you Noel. LOD 400/400 The harest place I know. Orbx EGLC and London with Orbx London addon RAM was 11.6 GB VRAM was 9.4GB it was before SU5 maxed out with this test, not now....it seems for my set up 3080 is fine even there with 400/400. (1440p) I am really happy to see 9.4GB. Edited August 8, 20214 yr by Nyxx David Murden. August 8, 20214 yr So, I get this correct: if you do not use a preset, your LOD changes survive the switching from low to ultra and back when done only for the buildings setting? That would be nice... That's correct. I'm doing it the same way as David described. As long as you don't touch the LOD sliders in the Sim UI you can modify any other setting without loosing your LOD settings you have defined in the UserCfg. Just check that the UserCfg Preset is set to Custom. And of course, you must not change Global Rendering Quality when you are in the Sim GUI. {Graphics Version 1.1.0 Preset Custom {Texture MaxAnisotropy 16 Quality 0 } {SuperSampling SuperSampling 3 } {Terrain LoDFactor 5.000000 <- put in value which work best for you } {ObjectsLoD LoDFactor 5.000000 <- put in value which work best for you ... - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).

August 8, 20214 yr Guys try first Reset to default Graphics Settings Reset to default Cache Folder Reset sim Set Ultra settings in Main Menu EGNX rwy27 check Windows in Buildings. Works for me. August 8, 20214 yr @Nemo sadly again a negative, switching buildings restores the nextmost building to the right, correct, but any other building further away remains low, until I do the preset switch. Above approach does also not work, I do not even use cache, neither rolling cache nor manual cache. Starts to get a little bit annoying this issue... You may be right, but I would not focus too much on EGNX. I don't have yet found any issues at other non-default airports. As I mostly fly to add-on airports or Asobo-better-qualtity airports I don't have to use the Graphical Options in the sim anyway.
