July 30, 20214 yr Just climbling out of Edinburgh enroute to Heathrow in the WTCJ4 12.6 Passing FL240, RAT 37 celcius, SAT 19 Celcius and ISA +51 celcius. Oh dear, temp spikes not fixed. Mouse is still disappearing and toggle spoilers is non functional. Spoiler issue maybe the CJ4 but I see the other issues in default aircraft. Also, although clouds are set to ultra, they look really pixelated. Not very pretty at all. I'm not liking SU5 as much as SU4. Looks like a few more fixes need to come down the pipe. July 30, 20214 yr Jayne (Community Manager) on the MSFS forums has replied to two of the threads on the matter and she's going to bring it up with the devs to see what the situation is and why it wasn't fixed in this update even though it was listed. Hopefully it won't be a long to get a fix as it makes flying at such altitudes tricky. July 30, 20214 yr It is not (and never has been) a problem in SU5. It started happening many days before SU5 was released, (when SU4 was the only operational MSFS simulator). It is clearly a problem in the Live Weather server itself for upper level temperature data. Jim BarrettLicensed Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic, Avionics, Electrical & Air Data Systems Specialist. I am with you, i saw that sometimes happen with the last builds ( but not as heavy as it is now ) so possible a weather server data problem.. cheers 😉 Edited July 30, 20214 yr by pmplayer 08.2024 new PC is online : ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F GAMING WIFI Mainboard, AMD Ryzen™ 9 7950X3D Prozessor, G.Skill DIMM 64 GB DDR5-6000 (2x 32 GB) Dual-Kit, MSI GeForce RTX 4090 VENTUS 3X E 24G OC Grafikkarte, 2x WD Black SN850X NVMe SSD 4 TB - Drive C+D, WD Gold Enterprise Class 12 TB for storage HDD, Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 1000W PC - Power supply, Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO CPU Aircooler with 7 Heatpipes, Design Meshify 2 White TG Clear Tint Tower-Case, 3x 4K monitors 2x32 Samsung 1x27 LG 3840x2160, Windows11 Prof. 23H2 - now Windows11 Prof. 25H2 Flightsimulator Hardware: Honeycomb Throttle Bravo, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, Logitech Flight Joke System, XBox Controller, some Thrustmaster stuff, Winwing CDU Panels.
July 30, 20214 yr I have just flown from Gatwick to Aberdeen in the FBW A320 and the weather/temps at all levels upto FL380 seemed spot on. At least I did not have to divert to Leeds Bradford through lack of fuel as I have before today. I arrived with close on 2 tons of fuel. However, I then decided on a trip from Gatwick to Nice. This was a different story over the English Channel I was struggling to climb and the fuel consumption was high. TAT +37C/SAT +16C/ISA +37C I aborted the flight as I was running out of fuel. There was a difference this time after the hotfix in that it was not spiking. I just had high air temperatures that increased as my altitude increased. I am hoping it is a weather server issue that can be easily fixed without another wait for a hotfix.
July 30, 20214 yr Heat could be coming into it. Previously my GPU got fairly warm but my CPU was not too bad. My video card temp is OK in the mid 70s, but since the update and hotfix, I've noticed my CPU cores getting a bit warmer than they were. Now running at an average of around 84 but spiking at times into the low 90s. The stutters and pauses seem to co-incide with the CPU hitting around 87. I've been running with everything pretty well maxed out on ultra settings and have just toned them down a little to test the effects. Ambient temperatures here are around 20c, which is around 3 degrees cooler than they were last week (when I had no issues with msfs or temps at all). RTX3070 GPU and 5600X CPU before anyone asks - not sure if my signature is appearing on posts. I was wondering whether to turn off game boost in the BIOS and test again. This thread is about a different heat issue (in-game weather). MSFS has been optimized both for CPU and GPU, and the Ryzen 5000 series do run a bit hot. I also get around 85C with a big Noctua air cooler (same temp as with my previous H100i AIO). The only real solution to the problem is get better cooling. Maybe swap out the thermal paste, or get a larger cooler. July 30, 20214 yr Quote I’ve confirmed with the test team that what was fixed yesterday and this morning has indeed reverted in some strange way. They are performing more tests to figure out the culprit of this sudden regression. Will update you when I have more news to share. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/wrong-temperatures/424391/310 Vote to fix transparent sun visors having no effect on the sun glare effect in MSFS at: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/sun-shades-sun-visors-not-influencing-light-in-cockpit/691565/
July 30, 20214 yr I too continue to experience temp variations out of the blue at altitude. Hope they fix soon as it disturbs stuff and is not fun. You can adjust on BIOS the maximum allowed operating temperature of your Ryzen CPU. It's on PBO settings. Just input the chosen temperature limit (celsius). Enable PBO. Works great. I do this for my 5950X.
July 30, 20214 yr Crazy temps at altitude, and while they say they fixed the altimetry problems, that for a givem QNH would make the altimeter readings vary with T, it appears they're simply turned back into no T influence on geopotential height. There certainly is still a long way to go before they fix the weather, and that means fixing this kind of stuff but also the proper integration of Meteoblue data with the weather and overall physics engine of the sim. One step at a time - fixes will come, I believe...
