MSFS for Xbox reviews are...

Metacritic on Xbox - 91 (same score as on the PC, by the way).

This highly regarded console release represents nothing else than flight-simulation coming back into the mainstream. The overall positivity, curiosity and engagement of newcomers in the other forums and gaming communities that I participate are a joy to see!

While the mood has not been the best lately on Avsim, I am very happy with SU5 + hotfixes and trust Asobo to address the pressing issues some may still be facing.

Yeah, some reviews are still coming out and I still see MSFS on the front-page of my Xbox every time I turn it on. This will for sure have a very positive impact and bring much needed new blood into flight-simulation.

I'm glad it's getting good reviews.

However, I see the term "showcase" being used by some. So I wonder what will happen after everyone has flown over their own house and checked out the Manhattan skyline. Those who find it deeply engaging every time will return, but they will also realize there's not much available depth to the sim unless you switch to PC with more peripherals, addons, mods, freeware etc. I guess that's not necessarily a bad thing, as I want the PC version and community to grow.

Congrats to Asobo and the entire MSFS team. This is great news and will only drive more people towards this hobby, which provides more incentive for developers to create more content.

Having gone through several years during which flight simulation seemed to die out among elitist old men (includes me), I am really happy to see the activity prospering again.

No doubt, only a small percentage of X-Boxers will stick, but given the wide overall exposition they are still enough to keep flight simming alive.

Kind regards, Michael

Side note,  that loading screen in the sim brings out the OCD in me.    I just stare at the jaggies on the wings while the sim loads.  lol.

That is exactly the trend I expect. Even if just a very small percentage of game pass subscribers keep using MSFS long term and seriously enough, it will already be a massive boost for the ecosystem as whole.

Right. 10 years ago these boards were filled with threads that were more or less funerals for flight-simulation. With FSX dead, XP way behind on add-on development and no P3D yet in the horizon, there was really not much to look forward to back then…

It's indeed only a couple of years old, but the (professional) photographer made me smile and look younger.😉 69 right now.

A young whippersnapper then, just as I thought.

IMO the main reason for all of this is that, for the first time, we have access to the entire globe. That certainly makes for some sightseeing appeal if nothing else.

Someone above said it already.  But, we knew this already.

For me all I see is marketing and promotion of the product with this critics review.  Go to their webpage and get inundated with buy on Amazon, sales for games, TV shows...they are just another marketing website.  I hate this sort of stuff really. Bah humbug.
