August 10, 20214 yr Not sure if it's just me but has anyone seen bad performance over cities? The popping is a lot worse than in rural areas, network connection drops which seems to be stemming from constantly loading scenery as I fly along, and stuttering/pauses with a uniform frequency meaning you can predict when the next stutter will happen like clock work (ever three seconds). Once away from cities the sim runs fine. Another thing I noticed is when taking off in the Ft. Lauderdale area I used to be able to look south at around 3,000ft and see the Miami sky line. Now that's gone. Not sure if I need to adjust a setting somewhere as some are reporting great results after the second hotfix for SU5. August 10, 20214 yr Can't say that's been my experience. I've been flying the Bell 47 helicopter around Los Angeles with great frame rates and at higher settings than before the update. Performance has been very smooth, enough to allow practicing landing on one helipad after another on the tall buildings downtown. Very different from what it was like in that area before the update. And I can easily see Catalina Island in the distance. Edited August 10, 20214 yr by Stoopy "That's what" - She

I forgot to mention I noticed it allot when using the Milviz Corsair which hasn't been patched for SU5. August 10, 20214 yr Not at all, I did what I consider the hardest test I could do last night. PMDG DC-6 the hardest hitting aircraft I own for FPS. Test flight KSBA to KSAN All down the cost. LOD set to 400/400. Not one stutter or pause, not one. If SU5 has bought one thing its super smooth performance. FPS never droped once even by 1 fps below my fixed 30FPS. August 10, 20214 yr It could just be my perception, but I did feel that flying over photogrammetry cities was giving me less FPS, that before SU5-HF2. I also got my first "Your bandwidth is insufficient for photogrammetry, so we're temporarily turning it off" message last night. I had no internet/broadband issues, and was running at 60Mb/s, so was surprised to see this. It was Stamford, CT, by the way. Can you try your test with the Milviz Corsair which has not been patched for SU5? I'm at work now so I can't test. I'm leaning towards some mods that haven't been fully updated can potentially cause performance issues. Not only the draw distance is shorter than before, PG cities have become very problematic. Just select the London discovery flight, even with a slow aircraft it's a pop-in and morphing mess. 7800X3D | 2x32 GB DDR5-6000 CL32 | RTX 5080 | Alienware OLED 34" | 1 Gbps fiber
August 10, 20214 yr I'm back to running LODs 200/200 which is where I was at quite a while back. It looks good and runs really good but I use the cache and have nothing in my community folder. If an issue occurs every three seconds like clockwork then I would say its a gauge updating and around cities theres more info to update on a glass display. | Dave | I've been around for most of my life. August 10, 20214 yr If anyhting i have seen a massive performance increase, no longer any stutters or pauses over the usual cities/ airports any longer, and seems better with the second hotfix . I got a slight hint of a a pause @ 500ft before touch down at EGLL in the FBW A320, no longer the big pauses for seconds or constant stuuters all the way in on Approach at EGLL. London was always the worst for me, even worse than any of the US Cities or airports. And seemed to get worse after the UK World update. August 10, 20214 yr Much, much better performance than before. Over London I had less than 30 fps before SU5, Paris was almost unflyable with less than 25 fps - both with the Spitfire or Savage Cub. Today I had 40 to 45 fps over Paris. BTW: No "popping and morphing mess" at all, but I use an LOD of 3.0. Edited August 10, 20214 yr by crimplene
August 10, 20214 yr Totally agree with the city skylines and buildings popping into view at a much reduced distance. Flying toward Toronto from the lake, the skyline pops into view at about 7 miles...and then it's just a thin band of office towers along the waterfront. Having the CN tower suddenly pop up in front of you looks ridiculous. The city skyline used to 'grow' into view at 15 or 20 miles out. Sure, I got a few more fps, but this kind of sucks IMHO. 🤔 [email protected] - ROG Strix Z790-E - 2X16Gb G.Skill Trident DDR5 6400 CL32 - MSI RTX 4090 Suprim X - WD SN850X 2 TB M.2 - XPG S70 Blade 2 TB M.2 - MSI A1000G PCIE5 1000 W 80+ Gold PSU - Liam Li 011 Dynamic Razer case - 58" Panasonic TC-58AX800U 4K - Pico 4 VR HMD - WinWing HOTAS Orion2 MAX - ProFlight Pedals - TrackIR 5 - W11 Pro (Passmark:12574, CPU:63110-Single:4785, GPU:50688)
