I'm using lod 4.5 for both and no stutters when I pan.

What's your system specs? And and are you running on ultra settings otherwise?

They're in my signature, yes I'm running on a custom ultra preset. Even higher than the vanilla ultra preset.

Thanks.  Also, TIL apparently the signature isn't displayed on the mobile website.

I can’t believe that.
Everything > 3 results in stutters for me when panning around.
And I doubt you will have a faster machine than me. I can’t see your signature on the mobile phone.

You both have very comparable systems.

His system: ASUS ROG Maximus Hero XII ▪︎ Intel i9-10900K ▪︎ NVIDIA RTX 3090 FE ▪︎ 64GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro ▪︎ Windows 10 Pro (21H1) ▪︎ Samsung 970 EVO Pro 1TB NVME SSD (OS Drive) ▪︎ Samsung 860 EVO 2TB SATA SSD ▪︎ Seagate 4TB SATA HDD ▪︎ Corsair RMx 850W PSU

I have my LOD at 3.5 at the moment, and while I get very good framerates in the air, it does stutter when I'm on the ground and looking in certain directions. I think these stutters would go away if Asobo let us set a wider FOV value for pop in scenery. Right now it seems like it's purging whatever is stored in your VRAM when you look away, and then have to reload it when you look back. It's ridiculus.

AMD Ryzen R9 9950X3D | Asus Astral RTX 5080 OC | 32 GB DDR5 6000 CL30 | 3440x1440 G-Sync | Logitech Pro Throttles Rudder Yoke Panels | Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS | TrackIR 5 | Oculus Rift S

I think you are right. That's why we hope to have some options to increase the buffer size in order to take advantage of the amount of VRAM in some graphics cards.

For some reason that buffer was reduced in SU5.

Arguably he does ( for this application). .. Your machine is close enough though so his settings should work if your ok with modding your config file.

Yes it's interesting how it's now operating within the limits of a certain game console, and there's no way to use the headroom available on more powerful PCs.

This really needs a fix.

That's interesting and wonder why.

Is CPU or GPU overclocked?

What are your settings on the Nvidia control panel?

I have MSI Afterburner just to keep an eye on the loads and temps and RivaTunner on my PC and  I can't go above

 {Terrain
LoDFactor 4.8 x 4.9

without any stutters on my 60 Hz, DELL U4320Q monitor running @ 4K.

Maybe if we can compare settings might help?
