Aerosoft CRJ 550/700 sale

All purchases thru the Marketplace have been flawless for me that is, so would opt for that unless Orbx also incorporated the sale price which I don't think they did.

Orbx did match the sale price but only up to the 30th it is back to full price now.

The Orbx store is a good compromise for aircraft they resell, the Orbx Central updater works well automatically downloading and updating all your products at once smoothly and painlessly - and they get their updates online far faster than the marketplace does.

Purchased it on 9/29/21 on the Aerosoft website since I have a few purchases already there.  Still learning and watching videos on YT still haven't got off the ground yet.  The only thing is....Where is the knob to set the settings for the take-off trim?...All the videos I've watched they don't show what knob on the CRJ Aircraft they are using to set it but show the ECAM screen changing it to the correct setting. I've looked at the manual but can't find any mention of it.  Anyone know?

Intuitively I'd say it's on the yoke?

Never here Glenn--it's been $68 Aus $$ since I first looked 5d ago.

You should've mapped trim up/down in the control settings to a physical button on your joystick / yoke anyway 😉

My simming system: AMD Ryzen 5800X3D, 32GB RAM, RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB, LG 38" 3840x1600

I am really enjoying this aircraft. Super glad I purchased it, especially on sale. I had avoided this add-on because of the negative comments that were made, but I think much of the criticism was either unfair or overly critical. This add-on is modeled beautifully, has study-level systems depth, and is very easy on the frames. This is easily one of the best add-ons today for MSFS.

And then there's this...

It was discounted on Orbx but for some reason the end date was about four or five days before  Aerosoft’s 30th. Think it was about $48 AU.

Ahh, that 'splains it.  If n when it's time for me I'll go thru the Marketplace and keep things clean and tidy.  I'd much rather support MS/A than Orbx anyway, plus I've spent very little on MSFS thusfar.  I do have a need for a regional jet so the CRJ is probably a good fit for me.  The thing I miss the most, is FSCaptain.  The devs really want to develop FSC for MSFS but alas the SDK isn't there yet to do it justice.

Yeah the Orbx sale was some anniversary thing that only went 3 or 4 days.

I refuse to use the MS marketplace anymore (unless it is Asobo or Carenado and hence not available elsewhere) it has been far too problematic.   For me Orbx are a good solution as Orbx Central works fine for auto updates and usually gets updates in a matter of days as opposed to months.

As far as MS go, the only thing they have going for them is they are slightly less evil than Apple 😄

I gave up on Orbx several times, and the last time was after I purchased 3 airports from them for MSFS and all three were missing the auto-tune ILS freq within the G3000 MFD.  I spent several interactions with them on their website over 8 months or so, striving to alert them very early so they could stop doing this with subsequent releases, pointing to whom to contact to solve this, and beyond a few 'we're working on it' for a good 8 months since my first letting them know, I gave up as they never did address it.  FSDT & Roman Designs took care of this, in fact I spent the same effort w/ Roman Designs (CWOY, fabulous work) but for Orbx it's deaf ears.  Plus, I'd much rather see MS/A survive than Orbx so don't mind supporting the Marketplace.  Certainly the more people that don't, the less incentive they have to improve it, at least that is my take.

"Far too problematic", is diametrically opposed to my experience: never had a single issue there yet, including 3 virgin installs of MSFS, 7 purchases, all of which flawlessly installed.  Two were updated, those updates installed fine, so I can't relate at all to this sentiment.
