You can do what I did: buy from their website, then you will have access to the Porter support sub-forum on their website, login and download the non-DRM version.   Install and go.

thanks for the reply - I might just do that as I don't like the sound of this DRM.

so the default download page will just give you the DRM version (which I can just ignore) - so I need to go to the forums (once purchased) and download the full non-DRM version and drop it into "community" folder presumably?(I don't need to update anything)

You got it right except for dropping it in the community folder, if I remember right.  Instead, there is an installer provided in the download, that you run.  Makes it even simpler, and it will ask for the license key you are provided with when purchasing.

I had also downloaded the regular install file from their website (you get a link after purchasing) but didn't install it. I just wanted to archive it since I paid for it.  The non-DRM version is named differently so you can tell them apart.

bought from the website and got the vanilla download link and link to the forums (assume this is where I get the non DRM version) - but its asking be to log in  with my ID not email - I have no milviz account so no ID! - how are you ment to log into the forums with no registered ID?

Look for an email from MilVis with a link to their forums. It will be sent to the email account you provided when purchasing the product. Be sure to check in spam/junk folders if you dont see it.  Milvis is very good about following up on this. Then register at their forums.

Yes there is.

"Toggle Tail Wheel Lock" that's the name, under the landing gear section

I noticed that de-icing on the windshield does not work last night, I turned on both the de-ice switches and even try the keyboard command for it, but it does not work.

I use Shift-G    and I didnt change into that command, worked right away (for me)

According the documentation I can find for calculating required fuel (which is limitted I'll be the first to admit) the value used for cruise is about 40gph but cruise in this model seems significantly above this.

For example based on the above -  40gph at 1,000ft should be giving a IAS somewhere in the region of 115kt, I'm seeing a little bit than 100ks when testing using the clear preset.

 

Additionally the Pilatus docs put range at 500NM with standard tanks and 870NM with underwing tanks so it does have reasonably significant legs if required. (Sure the speed means you aren't necessarily going to want to take it that far but the option remains)

Are you using the defrost buttons up on the top right of the MFD? Those worked fine for me recently. Think you need to pull out the middle and the right ones to defrost the windshield. The left button is the oil heater and I've never had any occasion to use that one yet.

How do we get this update? I did not receive any email with the update like we did last time. 

Do we have to go through the manual process of emailing MilViz and say "pretty please give me the latest version of the aircraft I paid for" to access their support forums so we can find the link?

Strange.  I had the email come through with the download link in it.  Maybe check your junk email.  I haven't been to the forums yet.  I suppose you need a log-in for that.
