September 30, 20214 yr https://flyingironsimulations.com/collections/microsoft-flight-simulator/products/p-38l-lightning-for-microsoft-flight-simulator Looks like an awesome plane from the pictures but I'm not sure about the price. I don't mind paying this much for a quality plane but I'm just not sure about FlyingIron Simulations. is it a good developer? I'd hate to drop $45.00 and be disappointed but I'm tired of all the GA's available, I need something faster! September 30, 20214 yr I'll wait for the Chock Report. KEY SPECS Built: 3810 ... what does this mean? Edited September 30, 20214 yr by Twenty6 not sure -J 13700KF | RTX 4090 @ 1440 | 64GB DDR5 | 2 x 1TB SSDs | 1TB M.2 NVMe

It's referring to the total number of P-38L models which were built, the L variant being the most numerous P-38 type. The figure is incorrect however, there were in fact 3,923 P-38Ls built, and that's out out of a total of 10,037 of all variants. To be fair, it's easy to get this figure incorrect because the L was basically a J variant with an upgraded pair of Allison engines and not much else different about it, and there were 2,970 J variants built, so it was the second-most numerous of the types built and it's possible that some records do not cleanly differentiate between the switchover to the later designation. Some confusion can also come about from the designations given to photo-reconnaissance versions too, which might have been essentially J or L variants, but given the designations F-5F and F-5G, so possibly not included in the variant totals even though they were basically the same type of aeroplane with a few cameras slung on them. Great details and excellent touches including the highly useful tablet. They really have a winner here and I know I am going to get a ton of hours on this one. Very rewarding to fly, If I had any suggestions for improvement, it would be nice if the reflective plates on the inside of the cowlings acted like mirrors as intended so you could visually check to make sure the nosewheel is down but that's my only nit to pick and it could be an Asobo thang. Oh I did find a reversed texture on a service door on the starboard nacelle but I don't envision looking there very often. Edited September 30, 20214 yr by Stoopy "That's what" - She

September 30, 20214 yr Switch sounds would be nice, and I notice the elevator on the rear seems to be non-functional with only what I think is the trim tab operating. In flight it seems to not matter tho. Did anyone have trouble starting? I followed the checklist but when I push the starter switch nothing happens. There isn’t even a crank, and I hear the engager running, battery is on… I swear I followed the in-game checklist, read the manual but can’t figure out what I’m missing. Ctrl+E works tho Interested to hear if anyone else has tried taking off and landing with a crosswind. Happened to have 6-8kts blowing almost right across and needed a ton of rudder to stay straight once the airplane started to get light on the runway, even before it left the ground. Landing, I felt like I was just sliding around with no friction even after getting the nosewheel on the ground. I only had time for two pattern flights but both times was the same behavior, and the first time I actually crashed off the side of the runway into a fence after landing. I know tho that MSFS ground handling is still pretty bad so this might not be something the devs can address yet Check out my cockpit setup: Works well, tho I technically have one too few levers but I feel linking the prop RPM to a single lever works fine, def want indiv control of throttle/mixture Drew Sikora Staff Blog Founder/Designer, MSE Airports
