October 8, 20214 yr Personally, I really, really like the regular updates from Asobo - there is always something to look forward to, each and every month. Some updates are a huge step forward and some are underwhelming, but that's part of the fun. There are also some massive projects that are nearing the finish line from third party devs that are sure to be game changers. I'm also really curious about the upcoming content add-ons - e.g. Top Gun and the Reno Air Races. Not because of the content, but because of the functionality they might introduce. Right now, activities such as bush trips are fairly basic - fly to these waypoints, land here, etc... I'm hoping these content packs will expand the range of events and triggers that are built into the sim to allow other devs to create more engaging content. For example, it may become feasible to build scenarios like those in Neofly within MSFS itself. Or not - who knows - but it's yet another thing to look forward to. In fact, there's so much on the horizon, it's hard to keep track of it all - here are the major releases I know of - what are you looking forward to? Is there something not on the list that should be "on our radar"? Q4 2021 - Sim Update 6 / 7 (DirectX12? In-App Beta Opt-in? Turbo Prop Engine model overhaul?) - Content Update: Reno Air Racing - PMDG 737 [hopefully, as of last update] - Fenix A320 [?] Q1 2022 - Sim Update 8 / 9 (Replay functionality?) - World Update 7 (Brazil / South America?) - FlyByWire A380 [pure guess, couldn't find an ETA] Q2 2022 - Sim Update 10 (powerlines, street lights, etc...?) - World Update 8 (Italy / Mediterranean?) - Asobo ATR 42-600 [?] (really looking forward to this one) - Content Update::Top Gun Addon 2H 2022 - Helicopters?
October 8, 20214 yr Yes , Asobo keeps it intresting for sure . Seriously we have abundant of riches with MSFS .
October 8, 20214 yr I just have a feeling we aren't going to get the PMDG 737 unti 2022. Ron Hamilton "95% is half the truth, but most of it is lies, but if you read half of what is written, you'll be okay." __ Honey Boo Boo's Mom
October 9, 20214 yr Dont forget the Maddog from Leonardo! I too dont think we will be seeing the PMDG 737 in 2021, but I am not a fortune teller so who knows we could have a nice Christmas present from PMDG. I am looking forward to the Milviz ATR over the Asobo ATR. Hopefully 2022 will see MSFS 2020 become the stable platform it deserves to be. While some are having CTD's likely due to too many incomaptible files in the community folder, the majority of us just want a weather system that works, a simulator that doesnt have shortfalls with its AI and updates that don't break other things.
October 9, 20214 yr Things to look forward to??? SU6 and bugs SU7 and bugs LOL I too am looking forward to the PMDG 737 and 777 ... they will be my first PMDG product for any sim. I believe that when they are released, they will be perfection personified. Fenix A320 ... not so much as FBW is keeping me happy for the moment. I would love a payware Longtitude and very much look forward to anyone contemplating the Phenom 100 or 300 and preferably both. I would think that the very fast removal of the Phenom 100 from Flightsim.tp is some sort of portent although it could have been a Feelthere or Carenedo port over. I think the unannounced content will give us all some very pleasant surprises and I just hope that ASOBO and MS can make some headway into the bugs and unpredictability of our beloved MSFS2020. October 9, 20214 yr Honda Jet! (I have seen dev pics on Discord, be prepared, going to be incredible). http://youtube.com/c/Greazer

Autopilot fixes (they promised to solve the approach flyback bug wit SU6 but there's no mention in the release notes) Terrain morphing fix Blocky cloud reflections fix (maybe with DX12?) Improvement of the draw distance of objects ATC improvements Human eye visuals calibration instead of cheap phone camera. This would eliminate the propeller strobe effect for which today we have to use a mod and the overexposed, washed out appearance during daytime DX12 ray tracing and DLSS implementation Realistic traffic with planes taxiing, taking off and landing Decent custom textures for those areas not covered by Bing data. The patchwork presented currently is an eyesore In general, more quality control... there are so many oversights after every release 7800X3D | 2x32 GB DDR5-6000 CL32 | RTX 5080 | Alienware OLED 34" | 1 Gbps fiber

October 9, 20214 yr I looking forward to all of the improvements of the friction layer that makes the air slow down and create fluctuation in the windspeed. The wind is never constant. Now it's only constant windspeed for the most part even on ground where it should fluctuate the most. Would be cool to stand behind a building that makes it like a shelter/cover for the wind and then when taxiiing to the runway the wind starts to move around you like it does IRL. Makes the whole experience much more dynamic when flying and on ground if the wind fluctuate more or less all the time. The only thing of improvement of it i can see is the wake turbulence. Thats good too but i think it's much more than that that need improvement in the wind system to make the experience become more dynamic. How challenging is the wind now on the runway. Not that much in my opinion.

You actually think they will be human? 🤣 Joking aside, the ones to watch, if history of MS flight sims is anything to go by, will be the Reno and Top Gun add-ons, because they may possibly introduce new engine parameters to the sim. Historically, when the Acceleration expansion was added to FSX, which added an F/A-18 and a souped-up P-51 Mustang Reno racer to the default FSX aeroplane stable, the sim benefitted from gaining expanded engine modeling parameters, including the capability for more engine damage modeling and the simulation of water-injection boosting commonplace in high performance WW2 fighter aeroplane engines. So it's possible the additions to MSFS will do a similar thing. I'm am even wondering if this might have been the 'thing' which A2A hinted at being a pre-requisite for a number of add-ons they had lined up and almost ready for release. Long-time users of FSX, back from when it first came out will recall that this expansion of capabilities allowed A2A to add a good deal of fidelity to their Accusim stuff such that it actually became a system requirement for A2A add-ons to have the Acceleration expansion installed, even if you had the Deluxe version, in order for stuff such as their Accusim P-47 and B-17 etc to even install, let alone run in FSX. Later this capability was made part of a service patch for FSX and it is of course also built into the Steam Edition, but either way, it was a patch to FSX that opened the doorway to far more realistic engine modeling in that sim, so I hope the same might be true for MSFS. Personally with regard to upcoming stuff, although I am looking forward to the Fenix and PMDG stuff, the one I'm really wanting to see is the Wing 42 Boeing 247. We've never had a decent payware rendition of a Boeing 247 for a mainstream sim, which is all the more remarkable considering its historical importance in being the first airliner which ticked all the boxes for being a modern aeroplane, as well as being the one which led directly to the development of the DC-2, the Lockheed Electra, the Beech 18 and the Curtiss Commando. Of course we already have a Model 10 Electra, and presumably Carenado have plans to port their excellent Beech 18 into MSFS. We know AH are bringing their DC-3 to MSFS as well, not forgetting that there is a Constellation on the way as well, which means it's looking good for anyone into these old bangers and with the potential prospect of some improved engine parameters, that might be even more of an exciting prospect. Not that much in my opinion. Well, yes and no because due to the poor ground physics, which they said will be slightly improved through an adjustmnent of ground friction due SU6, the wind on ground is actually trickier to cope with than it should, compared to RL... ASOBO has used a trick, creating a "ground wind gradient with GS" that makes the radial wing components converge towards 0 knot as your ground speed decays, so that at taxi speeds the poor groun physics don't make you fight in a rather irrealistic way a slight x-wind... Turulence aloft is mostly way overdone too, compared to RL, unless you contact jetstream or lee waves... October 9, 20214 yr DX12 and multiple monitor support. I'm stunned at how fast MSFS is developing and third parties are coming on board. What Asobo now needs to do is get is QA able to keep pace with the roll-out of upgrades.
October 9, 20214 yr Author Thanks for calling out a few interesting projects I didn't know about - the HondaJet looks amazing: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/upcoming-hondajet-for-msfs/418226/39, as does the Boeing 247 -https://wing42.com/boeing-247/?v=7516fd43adaa also forgot about a few. I wish I could edit the original post - I guess that option expires after a few minutes? I added the projects mentioned along with what dates I could find and/or infer below: Q4 2021 - Sim Update 6 / 7 (DirectX12? In-App Beta Opt-in? Turbo Prop Engine model overhaul?) - Content Update: Reno Air Racing (Official timing: "Mid November") - PMDG 737 [hopefully, as of last update] - MG HondaJet (in closed beta - out in "a few weeks maybe") Q1 2022 - Sim Update 8 / 9 (Replay functionality?) - World Update 7 (Brazil / South America?) - Fenix A320 [guess based on most recent dev update https://fenixsim.com/2021/10/08/fenix-a320-dev-update-08oct21/] - PMDG 777 (Pure guess - one quarter after 737? I think they are working on them concurrently?) - Miilvitz ATR (Guess - seems fairly far along, would make sense for them to try to release it before Asobo's version) - FlyByWire A380 [pure guess, couldn't find an ETA] Q2 2022 - Sim Update 10 (powerlines, street lights, etc...?) - World Update 8 (Italy / Mediterranean?) - Wing 42 Boeing 247 (rough guess based on the awesome progress bars on the dev site: https://wing42.com/) - Asobo ATR 42-600 [?] (really looking forward to this one) - Content Update::Top Gun Addon 2H 2022 - Helicopters?
