Simple traffic

Weird standards.

I mean, you can't satisfy everyone. There are some like you and I that will do everything to get a proper traffic, others not so much, but you know that already Tuskin. 🙂

I have had no problems with installing the AIG aicraft and flightplans, but for me night lightning is really important. And if I see only "black" airplanes landing without landing lights and without strobe lights, then I have to say "Yes I prefer the default airplanes over the AIG models".

Patric

Sounds like an error in your install because most of the planes do have night lights. Some don't but that's being fixed.

I always figured those are a placeholder until they get around to something better, like several other aspects of MSFS, always a work in progress.  My hunch is when they do it will morph into Simple Traffic.

Jorg has said more AI models will be added to MSFS eventually yes.

So what's the difference between Simple Traffic and AIG?

I believe AIG has ground vehicles, and I think I saw a Boeing 737 for AIG.  Besides ground vehicles though, what's the difference between AIG and Simple Traffic?

SImple traffic will use only online traffic from Asobo and their ugly models. You will see repaints of Southwest in the A320 configuration, which isn't real. So it masks the default generic planes with repaints of airlines, even if they don't own specific Airbus models. It's like putting a lipstick on a pig, or for the people that don't care for proper AI will do the job just fine.

AIG brings in the accuracy of proper models, repaints (a lot of times to the level of registration number and their custom paint) - there are some models that are still not converted to MSFS, but they'll get there. Yes, 737 is in the AIG's package.
AIG also brings in the offline traffic schedule, which is based on the real life time tables and it injects it into the simulator based on the time currently set in the simulator. It is very cool if you are hopping continents and want to play around with the simulation time.

The AIG models will also model match with live traffic.

In due time my friend they will be updated.  Creating models is very old news and their team is huge.  My bigger concerns are which one will be the least trouble-prone, tolerant of Sim Updates, and be the most performance-friendly.

I don't disagree with you in the long run, but again - if you are into pretty AI with accurate paints (custom ones, like United's Star Wars one) you will not get this level of detail from simple traffic. I just wanted to call this out. 😉

Sure I get it.  As a bonified Hedonist, I'm acutely aware of 'Hedonic Adaptation', so my inclination is always to be patient so I have something to look forward to as seeking constant titillation from new things is ineffective in the long run not to mention expensive!  I enjoy the holy heck out of MSFS in its current state and am constantly blown away by how good it already is.  I'm not one to load up on add-ons either for the same reasons, whereas many here can't wait to buy this plane or that airport or what have you.  Plus, truth be told, I hate digital trouble.  I think when Asobo gets around to it it will run better and have fewer 'issues' than the 3rd party products will.  I did succumb to Bejan's Seasons, which I'm happy with after an initial get acquainted period.  Haven't decided yet and if I want to jump in on AIG or ST, but my inclination is to keep it simple so ST may be a good bridge until Asobo improves the picture themselves.

Great for me much better then AIG! I like a "real" One Click Installer which finishes in 10 minuters with one click 🤪

I am with you. AIG sounds like a headache waiting to happen. I am a one click person, so Simple Traffic is perfect for me.

Maybe for some people a twin engine aircraft is a twin engine aircraft not a A320, A319, B737 or A330.  You see a monstrosity Ryanair A330 I see a Ryanair plane. Maybe thats the public for this simple traffic. Also AIG may be one click install but the setup is definitely not one click. It took me 2 whole nights to install and setup, sure after you catch the flow is not that hard, but the first time experience is daunting.

Let me put it that way: Simple traffic vs AIG immersion-wise is like flying with FS9 clouds vs MSFS clouds. Probably even worse - just find yourself a fitting analogy for seeing Simple Traffic's "Ryanair A330" at the airport.
This is not any Aerosoft-hating by the way - 24 hours ago I bought their CRJ 900/1000.

At least you don't have to twist yourself into a pretzel to install a one click add on. For many, and this goes back years, wrestling with AIG is a major PIA.

Most perplexing statement I have seen... That's like saying I prefer 480P over 4K lol...

Don’t get me wrong, I know the aircraft used in combination with the AIG installer (FAIB, UTT) are really nice models. But at the current state the default MSFS aircraft cut a better figure in terms of night lightning, and that is an very important thing for me.

Moreover when choosing Simple Traffic, one will probably go with the most compatible combination in terms of AI traffic.
