Since the beginning of MSFS I've had a button on my yoke mapped to the pause command in Natural Point.  In MSFS, there is apparently a command titled "Toggle Head Tracking" (is this new with this update?).  Within the sim (since this update) I've now mapped that (new?) command to the same button on the yoke.  Effectively now when I press the button, I am telling both Natural Point and MSFS to pause and un-pause Track IR at the same time.

I suppose one could simply pause/un-pause Track IR with only that MSFS command, the only caveat being that you'll want to ensure you never "pause" Natural Point.  Apparently when you "pause" through Natural Point, MSFS loses connection and/or "toggles" it's own setting off automatically as well.  But when you "un-pause" it through Natural Point, MSFS doesn't follow back in that instance.

The only reason I have the redundancy going on in my case is I really didn't feel like changing my settings in Natural Point, and figured "hey, I'll just assign the same button for MSFS's 'toggle' command and call it a day".

Now, of course, there is the issue of pausing/toggling it off and the camera auto-centering rather than staying where you paused it.  I remember this was a bug when MSFS first released, which they subsequently fixed not long after.  Seems now it's back.  Until they fix it again, I'm simply using pre-defined camera views for those instances where I need to focus on an instrument cluster, etc.

I did. I posted in the other thread this needs to be fixed ASAP as many others did as well.

Me too. Thanks for the help in the GOTY thread on this. Got it working but less than ideal. I like zooming and pausing TIR at times which now is impossible.

This is beyond stupid that I have to keep constantly re-enabling TrackIR through the Toggle Head Tracking button. I didn't have to do that yesterday, it worked perfectly.

I should have known that update = break useful things and provide no benefits whatsoever.

For me, if I open the camera menu, and turn on TrackIR, it works, but it seems to be constantly turning it back off...

It's asinine. The TrackIR button in the camera menu will turn off as soon as you pause TrackIR or go out of range. I pause a lot to look at gauges, my 2nd monitor, etc. Now I have to re-enable it every single time I pause, when I didn't have to yesterday?!?! And they call this an "Update"???

Like @mikeklimek said above, you can map a joystick button to "Toggle Head Tracking". But then when I pause the camera automatically pans back to the default view, so I still can't pause and keep it locked in a particular spot.

It is a bit baffling that the Devs would screw up TrackIR with a sim update introducing the Reno Air Race, isn't it?...

Flying low in excess of 400mph and off you go reaching out for the camera menu and TrackIR on/off button. Time it well, ha !!!

They had a long thread about Track IR on the Official FS forum, and locked it. Guess they didn't want to hear any more complaints.

Yep, I'm sensing a quick hotfix for this. They've ticked off A LOT of people.

I found a setting Toggle Head Tracking, which works. I set it to one of my joystick buttons, so at least I can turn it back on when it quits.

Same.  Like others have said, if your receiving device moves outside the TIR camera boundaries, you have to open the camera icon and enable it again...  annoying hehe.

You don't need doing that If you setup a key to reactivate it and configure one of your stick button for it, it's easy to work around.

Go to Keyboard setting, select Head Tracking and a combination of keys (for example CTRL+H) and then use one of your yoke button if you have one free (you can always replace the PAUSE that cannot be useful anyway).

But what you cannot avoid is the PAUSE getting to the center of your screen making it totally unusable, and that's the most irritating item for me as I do use the PAUSE button a lot to set my instruments: try dialing a frequency when you are in turbulences, you're in for a zoom-in-zoom-out festival and no frequency change...

I like the Release notes: SOMETIMES Track-IR may stop in flight... No, always!

As long as Asobo will have to stick to a fixed calendar for their releases, this sort of mishaps will happen! How else can we explain that no experienced IT developer shy away from published release dates in advance? I would not mind waiting a couple of days more for a new release to avoid this kind of aggravation, frankly.
