PMDG delays P3D updates

I suspect when TFDi releases the MD-11, sales will be good.

And if anyone reputable puts a Max out -- I suspect you alone will keep them going! 🤣

We've heard companies like FSDT/Aerosoft etc say P3D sales have decimated.  But I sometimes cringe when it comes from a company like them who haven't even produced many (if any) p3d products lately.  I suspect when TFDi releases the MD-11, sales will be good.

LOL very good point and it is these very same companies who time after time seem determined to destroy P3D.... Of course sales have been decimated because The Dev's just walked away because once again they have been hood-winked by MS marketing. Here is the kind of stuff that just kills me if true....I saw some posts and I think they were from one of the guys at A2A who just mentioned that they had to build a lot of their FS2020 stuff using P3D tools and then shoe-horn them into the MS Sim. It just makes you wonder if it is not time to move on to a pro golf game. LOL

I think that was actually RSR from PMDG 🤣🤣

And quite a few of those products often were of mediocre quality and not high-end 'blockbusters'. In my opinion, they have created a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Even PMDG has fallen behind in terms of functionality (compared to FSL, or even Majestic and Leonardo).

Quite. Every time I fly the Leonardo MD80 and then fly a PMDG jet I miss the convenience of the PFPX + GSX integration of the Maddog. Useability and quality of interface has always been a big factor in my enjoyment of aircraft, while PMDG remains good in that department I'd love to have stuff like a load manager of the likes of the one for the Maddog when loading my 744.

And yes I agree, old products don't sell as well as new ones, I'd be interested to see how well FlyTampa have done with their EHAM v2, the discounted upgrade as a solution for updates is one I am more than happy to put up with as a consumer in order to see improvement and adaptation. Indeed I'd more than happily shell out to see them give Kai Tak the v5 treatment with revamped textures etc, though they already did quite well with with the remaster they did a few years ago.

A jump and go flight, installing the liveries could be made easier, but so far very impressed even in just a jump and fly.

Thank you, forged ahead, all good ... lots to read.

Cheers, Rob.

Oh wow, so apparently iFly manages to actually create taxi lights that do illuminate the ground at night in any significant way, unlike the NGXu that PMDG has never fixed in that regard and that I don’t fly at night because of that. Just saying.

Does it come with GSX integration?

He’s not really addressing any of the concerns in that post. Just insulting people as “drama llamas”, ignoring the reasonable points people made regarding P3D and going for strawmen claiming people said things they didn’t actually say.

Rob -- Thanks for the video.  Nice work.  The plane looks very nice.  I see what others have said about the fonts looking a bit odd.

True, I was reading it and wanting to post something on their forum, but they would pluck my eyeballs out. I love their planes, been a long customer, but i will think it over buying NG for MSFS.

And I did see that updates are supposedly coming too, so maybe the font will be updated too.

While most of you probably don't know me but I have claimed in some of my older older posts that subscription model would be a way to go. At least for me. I am 27 with a "stable aviation job" (as stable as one can be haha 😅), which pays good enough for me to be able to afford this hobby which might as well one day grow out to be a real thing.
Subscription would work well for airport sceneries because they get very fast outdated. However I would be more than happy to pay subscription fees for airports, aircraft and other stuff for P3D if that helps developers to stay afloat and of course with their promise that they will stick with the product and provide updates to their products and promise to listen which I feel PMDG does not do for a while now. Don't get me wrong I like their products but come on grow up PMDG, FSLabs have delivered something huge years ago and PMDG have just been playing catch up with other developers instead of being on top of this and lead the market. And that's me saying in that way that I don't really like Airbus (sorry Airbus fans - don't get upset on me). But man what they achieved at FSLabs is just mind blowing - I mean window blinds go up and down randomly, and the cabin is then secured by Cabin Crew for TO & LNDG - like what the hell that's what I call: going above and beyond customer expectations really! We need innovation like this at PMDG and I am sure that people would be more open on paying for updates and stuff.

Anyway, back to topic. If they'd do a survey at PMDG I would be more than happy to support Subscription payments if they promised their commitment to their entire product line for P3D. As recently they have made way too many promises which they did not fulfill. That's my take on this. I personally don't care about MSFS and what comes on it and how many hundred sceneries they release on the platform, I for some reason feel like sticking with P3D for longer term. I don't see the reason of abandoning a very well working platform. Please MSFS fans don't get upset on this. It's just my opinion.
