Not a single word of the hotfix, what a disappointment, I haven't download the beta because I want to avoid a complete reinstall later, but now it looks like I have no choice.

I read it as the community team who put the development updates together are starting their holidays before the next development update would be due, not the whole of Microsoft and Asobo are on holiday from today. I'm sure some Asobo team members will have booked annual leave, just as my boss is on holiday after tomorrow whereas I'm not, but I'm also just as sure there'll be some of the devs still working on the outstanding issues. Some of my brother's fellow game developers are starting their holidays, especially after pretty much working non-stop and accruing holiday most the year, but I don't think he and others are stopping until Christmas Eve.

The latest hotfix/beta is an improvement. relatively small download and did not require community folder empty.

I am on STEAM, how do I get the beta without risk of complete reinstall or loss of all current settings?  That is why I have not done it.

Just move your Community folder to somewhere other than the default location and you won't need to do a full reinstall. Someone here has a good tutorial on how to do so.

I'm aware of that but as someone who has worked PR before, you have to assume that your customers don't keep up-to-date with your communications so you need to restate important details every time you publish something. Most users won't have read that statement so it's just best practice to give the community a quick update even if nothing's actually changed. Then you avoid many of the comments that are accruing on this thread lol.

You mean I should back it up? I can not understand how the game should work if I have my community folder outside the game.

WOW. Guys really, the complaints are just crazy! Yeah i get it, you bought something it needs to work or needs to be patched, i get it i really do. But lets step back for a moment and look at what has happened over the past 2 years. And what a crappy 2 years it has been. 

People have lost loved ones, loved ones have been sick, people have lost there jobs or homes. This has affected everyone, not just a selected few. Asobo have stuck with us and are not going away anytime soon (I Hope lol) They will get what needs to be done. So come on guys its coming up on Christmas or what ever holiday you believe in. Thank what ever deity that you and i are still here and are able to talk on the forums or play what ever it is you play, and HOPE that next year gets better than the last two. I myself have stocked up on 3D printer gear so that will occupy me for some time.

I live in the US and tomorrow is my last day of work as well until Jan 10th. 

I think it depends on what type of work you do. In my line of work, the production lines are still working and so are the shipping/distribution channels. But the corporates office is closed since we’re not needed during the time frame since everything else can run without us in the office for a few weeks.

Sometimes people  seem that as unfair, but when you sign up for a job, usually you know that you’ll be working holidays or not. If you prefer not to work holidays, don’t take the job. Find a job that gives you the working condidtions you prefer.
