I'll be careful how I word this because I am contracted to them (but not 'part of the company', so I am unable to do anything about the current situation). It has been Christmas Day, it's now the very early hours of Boxing Day. Just Flight staff have young families, and if you have seen the support given throughout the year for their own products, you might not be so flippant. They are a publishing house that also creates 'in house' products. They are not responsible for others' work / updates and will therefore get to them when they are in work. They are not really "losing customers" as you put it, because their regular customers know the level JF staff go to to support their products. If you don't want to buy from there, that's fine / if you'd bought direct from SWS you would have the update already. If it only takes seconds to sort, that is still time away from the family and I have seen JF staff over the last 12 months supporting various releases 'out of hours'. Give them 48hrs off for Christmas, or whatever their bosses have decided - their customer support is generally second to none. Edited December 26, 20214 yr by Delta558

I see Kodiaks have been adopted by a number of Gulf coast charter companies. In regard to the trek, one feature I have been waiting to see appear is a Caribbean-themed livery for the Kodiak. And today it appeared! And I am a sucker for throwback Teal, most often found on classic automobiles and motorcycles, but a great fit for the Carrib theme! Wow, that adds to a Merry Christmas! Looks like the Kodiak will be a go for me! https://flightsim.to/file/25238/donfanucci-caribbean-2-kodi Edited December 26, 20214 yr by fppilot Frank Patton Corsair 5000D Airflow Case; MSI B650 Tomahawk MOB; Ryzen 7 7800 X3D CPU; ASUS RTX 4080 Super; NZXT 360mm liquid cooler; Corsair Vengeance 64GB DDR5 4800 MHz RAM; RMX850X Gold PSU;; ASUS VG289 4K 27" Display; Honeycomb Alpha & Bravo, Crosswind 3's w/dampener. I bought the Arrow bundle from them and am very happy with it. Selling and developing their in house stuff is only one part of their business model though. The other part is distributing 3rd party addons created by other developers...this would include delivering updates to said addons in a timely manner I would think. In fact I imagine its their "bread and butter" so to speak in between developing their own stuff. Also I'm pretty sure no one would actually have to go in to work to update their server with the file. I'm sure most companies have gotten very adept at working from home these days. I can do 50% of my job without leaving my loungeroom lol.

I had to go into work Christmas day here in Oz and it took a lot longer than 10 minutes. Distributing 3rd party addons is a pretty competitive business model......there are plenty of alternatives out there. In my book its just good business to keep your customers happy. I've already decided to get my future addons somewhere else so their laziness has already lost one customer. I'm sorry mate but you really need to pull your elbows in a bit. For the record, I'm someone who bought the Kodiak off the JF store, so I'd quite have liked to have the update now since I finished work at 1800 on the 24th, and now have four days off for the holidays, the first four days off on the bounce since Christmas 2019. Like you, I've had jobs where 25/12 is just another day in the office (indeed I remember that one year when they took pity on me and I only had to work a 12 hour day (a half-day as we 'jokingly' called it) on 25/12). All that said, I will most certainly keep buying from JF since I appreciate the fact that they do not expect their employees to log on at 2230 on 24/12 to update a pretend plane. There are really so many more important things in life, and that their employees are at home, maybe with family, maybe on their own, especially this year when that's not necessarily a conscious choice, is something that really means a lot to me (I know, I'm getting soppy in my old age). Indeed, had I seen an update email at nearly midnight on 24/12, I'd have been quite miffed on behalf of that poor chap/chapess who had to do the honours, so on the off-chance that any of the JF team are reading this, you all put your feet up and have a glass of gin on me.

I very much doubt that would have been your first reaction....you would have thought "wow...these guys rock!" and proceeded to install the update.
