And for $59 you can have the entire planet in TE quality or better starting w/ streamed satellite imagery modified by BlackShark AI and you won't need to maintain substantial storage capacity.  The entire MSFS package is far less than storage for TE Spain alone.  Further, the typical cost of an addon airport is less than half the cost of this one small part of Europe just to set another gross exaggeration straight.  And more importantly since others here continue, on the XP forum, to contrast against MSFS:  default airports in MSFS already are excellent out of the box.  Coming from P3D I assumed I needed to purchase pay ware airports and immediately bought 6 or so until I learned it's just not necessary anymore unless one is intimately familiar w/ the airport in question.  My home airports are Denver and Rocky Mountain Airport and default versions of both are already fabulous on their own.

Oh, that is news to me - I always thought the general consensus was that the default airports are rather lacking and even the "handcrafted" ones are barren and not very realistic.

I guess since everything scenery is just so nice out of the box there are next to no addon scenery and airports available on flightsim.to or the marketplace.

We did learn something new these last few days.

Namely the majority of those coming in here criticising xplane have never even tried it.

Which explains why they keep mistakenly thinking xp11 and earlier things are new for xp12.

And also explains why they are/were excited to continue to wait for things that have been around for more than a decade, and why those who have tried XP were nowhere near as interested as they expected.

And thank goodness. Needing to do so would only mean everything takes much longer for marginal improvements. We've seen exactly that issue play out in super slow motion with Microsoft, 9 and a bit years into that project and they just threw out their entire flight model and started from scratch.

I never suggested they needed to start again or that XP11 was broken or anything of the sort. I am not tied to any one simulator and completely open to whatever of the available flight sim offers the best experience. There are pros and cons of each. However, I believe my points are valid and merely a constructive criticism of what has been revealed so far. I want XP12 to succeed but merely willing it to is not going to make it succeed.

@steve310002 XP12 will succeed because its better than XP11. What makes you think it wont. XP12 will succeed because the owner cares about the SIM money is secondary. The people involved love what they do, and we love what they do. No cares or demands by investors, just the people who use the product. They care about the things you dont see, thats what makes it such a good sim.

@Noel If you want to discuss MFS, then go to the MFS forum as you have been asked previously to do. There you will find like-minded folk who will agree with you. This is an X-Plane forum, so it's clear at this point you're just trolling or out to cause trouble. This is a small section of Avsim where people can discuss X-Plane, please respect that.

@uwespeed If you continue to feed the trolls they'll continue to bite.. If you guys want to argue it out, you can use the DM feature... alternatively learn to use the ignore user option.

Several users have already been added to the mod queue or suspended because they continue to ignore our requests to stop the nastiness on this forum, don't be one of those users.

Right now it is XP11 + early alpha stuff.

It is not and does not need to be XP completely new edition.

The only problem we keep running into from certain commentary, is they have never tried XP11, so they can't distinguish between what is new and what is old. Worse, many of them hold the belief that msfs is the first sim with global scenery, rather than a decade late to the party.

For Noel MFS is Christmas... It's exhilarating for some, and they need to share their passion with others... Been there done that...

I now share a passion between MFS and the upcoming XP12, so, I have a problem  😕

How will I post at both forums ?  Only positives about each sim, but on the opposite forum ? Only negatives about each sim but on the opposite forum ?  Hmmmm, way too complex...

Positives and negatives about each on their corresponding forums should be the right choice ... That's what I've been doing at the MFS forum where I can easily criticize what I find wrong / not satisfactory or express enthusiasm about what's positive. Can't do the same yet rgd XP12 because I never had the chance to get my hands on it. Austin always forgets about me when it comes to beta test X-Plane, and I never invite him for my barbecues...

Still waiting for IFR support. And the frequency database, at least on the airport side, needs a regular update based on the regular Global Airports cut from the Gateway.
