February 17, 20224 yr Hope this is the right forum for this. I am eyeing the new SecretLab chair, they're not cheap but look good and I heard they're really good. Anyone using one?https://secretlab.co/collections/all Jacek G. February 17, 20224 yr Looks the the same chair is priced from a low of $409.00 to a high of $644.00 with only color as the difference I would pay less than half that for one in a basic black of grey color. They would sit the same! February 17, 20224 yr I went on a "chair hunt" several years ago, and went to I-don't-know-how-many stores to personally sit myself in dozens of chairs. Most of them looked sleek and comfortable, but sitting in them and squirming around a bit, the cheap ones were non-starters and the expensive ones were mostly uncomfortable after prolonged sitting. (usually too hard) The only chair I found that instantly brought a smile to my face once my big..... expectations hit it was this one, and in the intervening years, its never ceased to be comfortable. Its not a "gaming" chair, but boy is it nice to sit in. Edited February 17, 20224 yr by HiFlyer We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... Frank, you're right. You pretty much pay for the trendy coloring which I don't care about at all. Jacek G. February 17, 20224 yr I have an AKRacing chair who started off years ago making racing seats in the UK for the car industry and now make chairs, I also have a leather office chair. Raymond Fry.
November 13, 20223 yr I'm going to buy my first gaming chair. Can you advise me on what to look for when buying?
November 14, 20223 yr Hope this helps. I always steered clear of gaming chairs due to the mixed reviews and that they seemed to be made for an audience that is significantly younger than myself. At the end of the day many of the best office chairs work perfect for gaming chairs due to the commonality between the two. I went with the Herman Miller Aeron chair. They are very expensive new. But my city (like most) have used office chair type showrooms. They mainly cater to corporate real estate clients. However they will still sell to the individual. I picked one that looked brand new but got more than half off retail. Great chairs. Very comfortable and also very tasteful looking. 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next
November 14, 20223 yr I got a gaming chair, but because the comparable office chairs (the ones I call CEO chairs) were way more expensive and couldn't afford them. And since I bought it during lockdown, trying them out was not an option. At least I already knew anything would be better than the dining chair I was using before. Anyway, returning from work-at-home to office felt like downgrading seats hehehe Best regards,Luis Hernández Main rig: self built, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D (with SMT off and CO -50 mV), 2x16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, Nvidia RTX 5060Ti 16GB, 256 GB M.2 SSD (OS+apps) + 2x1 TB SATA III SSD (sims) + 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD (storage), ID-Cooling SE-224-XTS air cooler, Viewsonic VX2458-MHD 1920x1080@120-144 Hz (G-sync compatible), Windows 11. May 2, 20233 yr Here's me, https://corbeau.com/gaming-base/ https://corbeau.com/racing-seats/fx1-pro/ I use the wide for my wide butt. I went to home dept and bought some 1 inch box tubing. Welded two lengths of it to the bottom of the gaming base, long enough to build a pedal platorm. Bolted on a front mount for my stick, and used the unutilized side mount bolts of the seat to mount small side panels for the switches and hotas. Call me weird, but I hate flying in everyting isn't in the same place. Edited May 2, 20233 yr by Waldo Pepper
