Fenix A320 looks like its going to be amazing.

I'll stick with my FBW A320neo. No hype required. It speaks for itself.

I agree. I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing the FBW progress over the last eighteen months and if they manage to get VNAV implemented before the Fenix is released I will saving my pennies. Circuit Breaker F7 M5 notwithstanding.

I think I will buy the Fenix day one, but I am not a fan of their new communication, before we had updates, video, screenshot and now nothing for a month

Yes, I also feel ready for another update to have something to be atonished at. At least we know that we don't get updates since team fenix is working hard polishing their piece of software.

That sounds like a great relationship compared to Carenado🤣😂

I'm inclined to believe Chewwy. The guy has never been shy about criticizing products when they deserve it and that includes MSFS.

What you don't think FBW don't hype their A320 just as much as their followers do? what planet are you living on.  No pun on FBW but there are more capable A320's in flight sims already maybe not in MSFS but lets be honest FBW has a ways to go to get to Toliss, FS Labs, Flight Factor and maybe Fenix in the future. Their not even close to Zibo freeware in X-Plane at the moment. Hate to say it as a  FBW user from time to time but yeah they hype too.

I think what he means is that the FBW has less hype because he actually flies it; He can experience it with his own eyes. Hype by definition requires the product to exist only in the buyers imagination. I supposed you can view FBW's VNAV, Model fix, and hydraulic-aerodynamic simulation as hype since it's not here yet, but I don't think that's what gb is talking about.

Personally, I disagree with sticking with a product only because it existed first, but I digress.

Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory.
The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.
To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune.

There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you.
It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

I don't have a lot of A320 experience, but VNAV seems to work reasonably well.  It automatically adheres to altitude constraints on climb and decent, what is missing?

Not a lot, but what is missing is important.  Currently it will not respond to bracketed alt. restrictions (i.e. above 8k below 12k per SID),  it will not do a geometric descent (it immediately goes to idle power until alt constraint), the PDF display does not show the VANV indications, ect.  That is coming though.

What I would like to see is WX radar and GROUND map.  Yes - we all know that they will not do this unless they do it realistically but I am not sure I understand that.  They have slowly evolved over several releases systems that were (and still are) not fully correct, which is fine - great thank you very much.  But the Ground map in the default is actually pretty good, I would love that just to be plugged in while they keep working.  As for WX radar, what they are requesting from MS will never come, even with opening up some WX variables, heck - I don't think Meteoblue even processes information to that extent much less for a sim.

I love 'em and will continue to donate about once a month, but I am really looking forward to what Fenix has but I fear a FPS hit on my box at least.

They showed up to the world with an exaggerated power. To maintain that standard of communication with a lot of detailed video e accuracy requires a lot of energy and time, in my opinion.

Considering the level of realism of the addon that they are preparing, and the difficulties to operate with the MSFS SDK, it's understandable the change.

Then they can post some screenshot every other day and publish short videos, just game footage of the FLS guidance mode for exemple, once a week

Not a lot of work and will make everyone happy

Or you could not act so entitled?

Both the Fenix A320 and PMDG 737 will have a fully functional terrain warning system on release - both developers have confirmed that. Some of the Fenix promo screen shots have shown it in operation. They are not extracting terrain information from the sim, but using a stand-alone worldwide terrain and obstacle database, which is exactly how a real EGPWS works.

Weather radar is already available for default aircraft programmed in JavaScript/HTML, so the data exists in the sim environment already. Asobo just needs to develop an API so that data can be accessed by an aircraft programmed in C++/WASM. They have already committed to creating such an API - I have no reason to think “it will never come”.
