Just Flight Bae 146 update

and the fact that the fmc is so basic

I think folks might not be understanding what really was available on these planes. The two options were a Collins FMC, which is nearly identical (if only slightly more basic) to the PL21 FMC of ours they shipped, or the Universal FMC, which is very much a lot more basic.

I feel like folks are expecting a Boeing type FMC complexity and that was never really available, and even the ones that were available with an STC (the original FMS is no FMS at all, it didn't come with one) were not especially complex units.

- GTN750

You want a GTN750 in a BAe-146? Im sorry, but doesn't that defeat the entire purpose of purchasing and flying this plane? Also, The original FMS in these planes were indeed, very basic.

Has anyone encountered an issue where they cannot click on ON button for the Nav selector for the ILS?

Is anyone else getting a loud clicking in the cockpit when AC power is applied? If so, is this realistic, because its pretty distracting!

There is a quite a lot of ambient noise like the real aircraft but clicking doesn't come to mind. Check out our videos on YouTube to hear how it should sound.

It could be the altimeter vibrator. Basically there's a mechanism in the altimeter that continually "taps the gauge" to stop stiction making the needles stick. It's very audible on another BAe product when the engines are off, the J41.

I don't see why.

I bought the plane for many reason, one of them was radio navigation and using basic aviation knowledge for vertical management. I some time use the FMS to change the style of flying, planning, etc... I am having a lot of fun right now.

Getting the GTN750 and a Civa INS would add even more to this plane in term of possibilities and fun. GTN because the map, vertical guidance advice, live weather, etc... And CIVA because it's just a cool piece of old tech.

Plus it's already a quirky plane

If it's possible, great, if it's not possible that's fine

Yes.  Well, the T/L and GLS buttons on approach if that's what you mean.

That said, I seem to remember on the X-plane version that everything had to be 'just right' in terms of procedures, heights, speeds, etc before it would engage - so I'm assuming at the moment it's me and not the aircraft modelling.  When I get a moment, I was planning to run through my notes from the X-plane version and re-read the manual to remind myself and see if I've just forgotten something.  The odd thing, though, is that occasionally I can't switch the FD toggle, and that is a bit odd.

If I find a solution, I'll let you know!

Hi Matt! I do understand that, but not even having a performance section? I can only input a flight plan and that's it.

I saw someone with that issue (But i don't remember where). Basically the solution was to switch to the msfs legacy cockpit interaction

What do you need a performance section on the FMC for?  The TMS and flap/v-speed chart gives you the correct performance data already.

Its not that i need it, im just wondering if the real retrofitted fmc has one.

- and, one of the system i really would like is the CIVA INS

Did anyone ever install those kind of INS systems in this aircraft ?
AIUI there were designed primarily for long trips over open oceans where there's no line of sight to any kind of radio beacons which is definitely not the 146's intended role.

That would likely depend on what the owners installed - AIUI there was no standard refit option to install an FMS.

Don't think so, for the reason you cited. would be fun tho, plus the -100, medium load, no extra tank, can easily fly 2500 nm with 2 tons of fuel to spare

What would be the point of inputting performance data into a computer that doesn’t control the throttles?  That info needs to be input to the bag of meat between the seat and yoke that is actually doing that.

There was an update anyone knows chengelog?
