For $5 you get some kind of sound effect played if you're lucky.

Never understood this concept, people paying to watch others play video games, could be that I’m just missing the point, but to each their own.

In the meantime, I may check out his video and fast forward to the good parts so I can get a visual feel of this bird as I’m pretty interested in this one.

This is not the first time I see this guy completely lost in a cockpit.

It would be really helpful if he studied/familiarized himself with the airplane before his presentation.

I'm afraid that he's more interested in donations versus a showcase software evaluation.

Very painful, I had to stop watching after t.o.

I have this 146 for P3D and it does fly pretty nice, a few hiccups here and there, nothing really major. What I noticed on this MSFS version is the same issue regarding oversensitive rudder reaction (like all airplanes) wherein P3D is smooth and more realistic.

Good for him that he found a way to make money from people paying to watch others play video games.

Can’t argue that, I mean this is the guys job now, flying msfs, so hey, power to him! Beats my 9-5 that’s for sure!

It's funny to remember that back in the days, playing Grand Theft Auto with friends. Once you died, you handed the controller to the next person and watch them play. It was always entertaining to watch other people play. Im 38 years old now and I couldn't be bothered to watch people play video games, but there's surely a market for the younger folks that are into it. To each their own. (Although, yeah - that was 3 hours of non sense. Should've been a 12 minute YT video)

Glad to see I’m not the only one that thinks along this line. Remarkably, this type of content is very popular with thousands of subscribers per Twitch channel. I was always mentored to put quality before quantity, but the reverse is true in the world of social media to acquire a large following (in the majority of cases).

I don't think you are the type of audience for Twitch then.  Twitch streams are typically long, and the the streamer will interact with the chat.  No full time Twitch streamer is going to stream a 12 minute short advertisement and then stop their stream after 12 minutes, they would starve to death if they did that. Streamers typically get the highest numbers around 1 to 2 hours after they start a stream, and that's where they start making the most money.

To be honest, Fabio is not doing anything different than the other flight simulator streamers.  You can more or less pick out any flight simulation stream in Twitch, and what the streamer does is more or less the same as Fabio.  Perhaps Twitch is just not for you.

Yes, totally agree. I know I’m not a Twitch fan. I’ve tried a few steams from various Twitch streamers but just don’t have the patience to push through long periods of nothing happening. I’d rather be flying, researching a topic or watching a solid video. Cheers!

Gotta love the comments about watching others play video games. Who would do that when you could spend the same time watching others play sports?! I'd rather stick needles in my eyes than do either...lol.

For me it’s not even about watching others play video games or not, it’s about spending three hours watching a twitch show and how those are approached.

There are some YouTube channels I enjoy watching that are basically watching someone play video games.  The Grim Reapers in DCS are one example, they have really interesting content particularly their “what if?” scenarios.  But they are 30 minutes max and designed to be entertaining/interesting if you like military history and/or combat sims.

But, back to the main topic, I eagerly await some 12 minute YouTube videos of this great aircraft 🙂

I think the question isn't why the streamer does it, but rather why people watch it. I get that everyone wants to see the plane, including me, but how do people have the time and patience to watch someone say hello to random people for an hour before anything even happens. And then even pay for it... to each their own.

Guys it's Twitch. You don't get successful on the platform by having no personality and not engaging with the audience. Fabio likes to let his audience view him learning the modules as he goes along. It is his style, his viewers like it and the guy hasn't gone broke so it's clearly working for him.

It is more a matter of expectations. None of the regular viewers came in with the expectations to see a 12 min show and that would be it. For me it is more like talk radio. You get to catch up on the latest news and you get to meet the guys you fly with on a regular basis. The first part is usually just to set the tone for the day and to give people time to tune in. I am pretty sure there hasn't been a day where Fabio has taken of within the first hour of starting the stream. And that is totally fine.

I get it is not for everyone, but to come and complain on the format seems weird. Remember that a youtuber makes all of his money after he has recorded, edited and published the video. A streamer pretty much makes all the money during the show. So clearly the format needs to be different.

Have to add myself to the list of those who just dont get watching gamer streamers, I do find Cpt Moustache's stuff worth watching in segments as he obviously knows his stuff and gives plenty of insight into the product, but in general, meh.

The 146 might be my first ever 'BIG' plane as its got a certain character and ability to get into some interesting places, oh and the cockpit is not littered with TV screens

agreed with @espent I get the format is not appealing to everyone.

Fabio likes to slowly go into small details and likes to interact with his community. This wasn't presentation by the developer or advertised as a short review.

Most of this thread feels like people tuning into live sports match broadcast and complaining that they only want to see the highlights.

watching a middle aged dude play computer games in his spare room is a million miles away from watching elite sportsmen do their thing

i do admire these guys for making a living out of this - i don't know how many times you can thank people and still sound sincere

i get more frustrated to be honest at how these "streamers" get access to things often before the normal consumer just to hype it up. not alphas or betas, but in some cases the full product, a few days before it goes on sale

but i am definitely getting old

on topic - i think i might buy this if there is a corporate interior version, but i suspect there isn't?

Now you just sound bitter and jealous for him getting free stuff.
