New version of LiveTraffic available !

I tried and I'm not convinced.
The weakness lies in the ground movements of the aircraft.

Beside taxiways, slewing over the ground.

In the air, they stutter often.

All in all it is impressive to see the live traffic 1:1 from flightradar. But where Transponder Data is weak in reality (e.g. on ground) it is also in the sim of course.

  • The update frequency goes to every 2 seconds instead of 10
This give PSXT 5 (!) times more samples, resulting in more precise taxiing with less corner cuts.

  • Latitude and longitude have 5 decimals instead of 4
This improves the granularity with a factor 10 (!), the smallest step goes from  6 to 11 meters to 0.6 to 1.1 meters.

  • The QNH value has got a decimal.
This makes the altitude calculations ten times (!) more precise.

  • A new field “trueHeading” in most traffic messages
Airborne aircraft now show their real heading, this gives us crabbing in strong cross winds automatically, no need for PSXT to simulate.
Taxiing aircraft are now much more stable in their heading.

  • A new field “roll” in most traffic messages
One now can see the aircraft roll (bank) as in real live, no need for PSXT to simulate.

  •  A second  traffic+QNH stream for your destination airport.
This gives the possibility to let Learner learn your destination airport while you are still on the ground preparing your flight, and while you are flying to it.
When the destination airport comes into sight, PSXT will command Learner to stop, and PSXT will take over the (updated) airport file for the destination.
This way you’ll always land at a (non-empty)  airport with the actual traffic situation (!).

  • And last but not least: the long lasting bug that sometimes caused RealTraffic to stop sending traffic messages has been fixed!

Upcoming new feature in PSXseeconTraffic (31.0)

  •  PSXseeconTraffic sends all the data about your aircraft to RealTraffic that is needed to use a Garmin Pilot/Foreflight app connected to RT.
You can now follow the aircraft that you are flying in your Garmin Pilot app at your phone, laptop or what have you.

  • Helipads as new type of parking position added to the airport file with attribute heli="true"
PSXT is able to generate these helipads from the .bgl files of all addon airports and P3D stock airports.

  • Aircraft category Gliders added
You now may see the air full of gliders on a sunny afternoon 😉

  • High Performance aircraft (such as the F16) is now a seperate category, to be switched on/off

  • Added a mechanism to detect and repair automatically  cargo parking positions that do not have a cargo=true flag in the airport file.

  • Numerous updates in the dbase.xml file.

  • Added an offline method to define registration codesfor liveries
It is no longer needed to make these (multiple) registration code definitions in the atc_id= line of the [fltsim.x] section

  • [back in again...] Parameter User destination airport added to the UI
  • [back in again...] Added a hidden parameter FLIGHTPLANS_FOLDER
This can be used to set a path to your flight planner. PSXT will pick up your destination airport from your flight plan and fill it in the Destination airport parameter automatically.

An important factor for me is, Real Traffic has 24 h time-shifted data (the Pro version even more but I don't need that). Microsoft's Live Traffic is Real Time only, and when I find time to fly (usually around midnight locally), traffic at European airports is spare or completely down.

Kind regards, Michael

I'm afraid that I would need the Pro version If I want to fly at other places in the world. When I want to fly for example in Western Australia at my local day time, this would mean I have to load historical traffic which is only possible with the Pro version. Otherwise, If I like to fly right now (15:00 Z)  I can only see the traffic that occurs at 2 am (Sydney local time). Is this right or do I miss something.

Edit: Just read @pmbcomment. Is this 24h time shift granted?

Haha, this is a good one. Yes, the "livery match" is there, but you are aware that United does not use any A330? But then, this plane not even really looks like an A330, so who cares 🤪

Again, what is the primary benefit, that planes match airlines, is that the primary benefit of using RealTraffic?  If so, you're right I don't stare at other planes, am patient for Asobo to update their models, and what I have seems good enough for now so am one who certainly is not going to pay a monthly charge to solve this issue.  What I would be interested in is having all of those planes BEHAVE properly after they land, which is true most of the time, but not always.

I use Real Traffic with AIG and PSXT and think it is very good for simulating traffic at airports making them feel realistic with parking assignments, etc. It adds a lot to immersion for a airline simmer in my opinion.  The only thing i don't like is that flying online with Vatsim or just online in general can be somewhat of a challenge when landing since nothing is controlling these planes.  You can be cleared to land on Vatsim and basically have a plane 50 yards in front of you.  All in all, it is worth it to me and think the cost is ok

I use all three but I am not sure I am using all three correctly.  AIG offline and PSXT can conflict with runway assignments.  How do you use AIG?

24 Hr time-shift works fine in the standard version.

You only use the AIG AC + PSXT + RT

I thought Vatsim injected traffic into your sim?

I think that is what I use.  The AC is the traffic controller right?
