From the Content Manager... Just remove from there what ever you want. Easy to install if you need it in the future.

You can also remove part of a package in the Content Manager. Like one bespoke airport removed out of a World Update. There's a little symbol in upper right corner of content manager that shows pieces of that update. You can remove a piece. Such as removing an Asobo airport if you have a payware version of the same thing (if there is a conflict between the two).

Third party creators can add Stars too. There's only 4 new handcrafted airports in this update.

Existing Asobo ones in Iberia are LEMD and Gibraltar.

Yeah, I forgot the Spain airports installed from my subscription to Beautiful Model of the World. BMW adds about 4 in Spain, about 8 in Italy, and I think 3 in France. Some of the yellow starts in the map in my message were BMW.

BMW is a cheap way to get lots of airports. You only pay once up front which gets you all his airports and then all his future will be free to you. About one every six weeks or so. (Most are Italy and Spain). They all go into the Community folder.

LESU was hard to find - covered, and I mean covered in snow! If only Asobo could fix the issue with snow hiding runways and clinging to different levels depending on how dark the surface underneath it is.

Also, interesting (politics aside):

My pet peeve has not been improved. There's no hint where a POI is located. You have to search it out (such as by typing in the World map search bar).

The only update where I knew them all was Germany Austria Swiss because there were hints in the release notes for every POI, such as "Elbphilarmonie (Hamburg)".

So if I was going to be flying around Hamburg, then I knew to watch for something called Elbphilarmonie.

If I remember correctly, in the world map you can turn a filter on that shows all the POI's.

Thanks. I suspect it doesn't show which are the new and interesting POI's added and which are the old ones which are just routine objects. And you can't see the world map when flying.

Hi,

These artifacts near Madrid were there before WU 8. I think it is caused by an addon (I think it is Bijan ships or marinas or someting like that, I can’t remember now).

Another thing: some of the cities of this update appear to me very “melted” (Lisbon or Tenerife, for instance).

Regards.

Thanks. I have never seen that artifact until today. I have the Bijan add-on and I'll disable the mod and test.

Deleting it worked for me.

I'll mention it to Bijan at some point but as i understand it he's dealing with with more personal/family issues at the moment so I'll leave it for now.

LEGN my fave little hilltop airport/strip just south of Bilboa, has some dodgy terrain gaps in the valley just off to the West right nearby.

I just confirmed that @BijanStudio (Bijan - Islands and Boats) is causing the artifact. I've been using the add-on since the beginning and never saw the issue. That's the last mod I would have checked.

Thanks again John!

Some guy mapped only all of the new non handcrafted airports added in WU8. It looks like the USA got the hog's share !

I dont know why Asobo insist in such a complicate way to update MSFS.- In this case, once you initiate the sim,  it  first sends you back to the M.Store, where you must find the way to find the update, which is not easy and diferent each time, second you must download a mandatory update from the sim itself. So why updates can't I be downloaded everytime from within the game as happens at all other games ?

The first part of this has to do with the way MS Store works, not anything Asobo has done. It isn't like this if you have the Steam version.

The second part is because this isn't a mandatory update; it's an optional scenery update, so you can choose to install it or not from the marketplace, like all other world updates.

If you installed the game via the Xbox app instead of the MS store app, the update procedure is not unlike Steam:
Start the Xbox app and select the update button next to Flight Simulator. After it has installed the base update, you can start MSFS and it will tell you there is additional content.

New POIs and airports have exclamation marks on their icon.

flew around Lisbon today in f18 around 500mph and got a CTD about 10 min in above LPPT.   Was smooth as silk till it CTD'd.  oh well.
