April 27, 20224 yr My system is almost 7 years old -- and it was by no means state of the art when I purchased it. But I have no problem running SU9 without stutters. April 27, 20224 yr Ian - If you've still got your G2, grab the opencomposite-acc mod and do some flying in DCS. It's had a huge FPS boost and now a thing of VR beauty with barely any stutters 👍 plus it gives flying a purpose with csar's etc. Edited April 27, 20224 yr by dogmanbird
April 27, 20224 yr Also try clearing your rolling cache if you have not done so. it caused me issues on a earlier update . April 27, 20224 yr SU9 is a big improvement for me. Noticeably smoother than before with none of the microstutters introduced in SU8, especially when panning. Clouds also look so much better. Almost feels like a whole new sim to me.

There are people here who can afford a $2000 video card, expensive CPU, and 4K monitor but can't afford to buy an airport or give a couple of dollars to AVSIM. Think about that! April 27, 20224 yr When someone (Ian) reachers out for help, Do people even understand the stupidity of a reply saying "Sim works just fine" its breathtaking really. " Doctor I'am coming to you becasue I have a bad pain in my head?".....Doctor..." Well mines fine".......💥 Moving on. Ian, Ive had a break from MSFS for 3 months (DCS and Elden ring) and I found like you the sim was not smooth. At one point I wondered what was going off after running Elden ring on max setting at 60 FPS for over 400 hr and not one CTD. MSFS..../sigh. I bought KBOS and KRNT....O dear....I'am locked at 40FPS for TrackIR (120Hz msfs 20fps lock)and at them two airport it was 24-26 FPS. The only way was to turn LOD from 200 down to 100. But like you are finding the sim still was not right, a stuttering mess. So, I sort off started again. I know the PMDG is coming out and streamers FPS are not 40+, so I tried 30 fps, rubbish and worst with TrackIR. After reading a post some where I went into Nv CP went to my MSFS and pressed restore button. That helped. But Since I am not going to get 40+ FPS with the NG or FENIX, I for the first time in a long time took of in sim VSync, turned my screen refreash rate to max 240Hz and went back to RTSS and to test. I have no idear why, but 30fps with TrackTR is terrable 31 FPS=terrable, 32 the same, 34 the same 35 the same....but 33FPS was like ...what!! With the new update RTSS set to 33 FPS TrackIR and the sim set to 200 LOD, Ultra setting the sim is now running perfect again and I dont need 40, 33 is a huge step down for the PC to handle so. I am lucky ive found a new sweet spot. I surgest, set screen to max refreash, turn of in MSFS Vsync and have RTSS open and play around with FPS 30+ and see if you can find that 1 fps sweet stop. O and reset you MSFS in NV CP to restore. GL Ian. David Murden. April 27, 20224 yr If you are experiencing problems, turn down settings to medium or even lower. If you are still experiencing problems, refer to my many posts where I say that it usually makes little sense to throw expensive hardware at MSFS. I run MSFS on a 7-year-old PC with 8 gigs(I) of system ram, frame rates capped at 30, and get around 23-27 fps This on an ultrawidescreen 1080p monitor. Refer to the dozens of screenshots I've posted on the screenshot forum. If your PC is "acting up", the cause is likely the person staring at the monitor. Of course, it' always easier to "blame Asobo" At any rate, I'm definitely in support of a "let's take the summer off from simming" initiative. Enjoy the sun, go outside, have a beer. Engage in outdoor activities.

I myself made the same statement simply because there has to be another reason for the OP issue. If this was an MSFS 2020 problem surely every single user globally regardless of hardware would be experiencing the same issue. Ian has a much more powerful rig than I do yet I am able to run the sim at full 4K with the fps locked at 30 with pretty high settings. I spent a great deal of time adjusting the settings for my hardware and I haven't touched them in ages. So far for me SU9 is a big improvement. I was simply trying to suggest that rather than devoting too much time looking at MSFS maybe start troubleshooting elsewhere. Maybe a software reinstall is required, it is not unusual for Windows to get bogged down over time. My PC is used for nothing other than my flight sim hobby and I have the original Windows 10 installation from when I rebuilt my PC back in 2019. Well it's simple Yes. He says he's throwing in the towel in the title of the post. I clicked on it expecting to read it exactly as many others. Why start a post with a rant. Most people don't care about the rant. If you ask for help and explain a problem many will offer a suggestion. It does not appear from his original post he was reaching out for help! It's an announcement he's taking the summer off. My suggestion would be to go sim in a different product until this one improves. Asobo has said they are on a 10 year plan. We have a very long way to go. Updates have always fixed 1 thing and broken 2 others. Edited April 27, 20224 yr by tpete61

With everything on high, some thing on ultra, 5120x1440, on average I get between 30 to 40fps depending on addons, but SU9 is a lot smoother
