Any decent turboprops for our sim as yet?

Hey guys, i like to do short hops around NZ....fly the A320 to main centres but was wondering if anyone knows of a Dash 8 or an ATR that works with our sim (payware is fine) to fly the short hops?

Cheers

Not yet. There’s a few freeware attempts that tie old fsx models to the default king air cockpit and the like, but nothing I’m interested in.  Milviz is working on the ATR as is Asobo themselves.  And some day probably not any time soon, Majestic will have their Q400.  Aerosoft Twin Otter is about as close as you are gonna get.  Or do short hops in the new Bae146 or the Aerosoft CRJ jets.

Why not try the Simworks Studio Kodiak 100?  Turboprop and great for short hops and all size airports,

Also the Milviz PC-6 is available, if you're into really slow, short hops.

It can do a hot start on you if you aren't careful.

Kodiak and Twotter are great!

The Bandeirante is in dire need of a soundpack.

I invested 4.50 EUR (one month of patreon) and got the FTSim+ Soundpack for it.

I find the aircraft usable now. It's better than the default sounds to me.

The Kodiak is probably the best so far.... maybe a close tie with Milviz PC6 -the KODI is a lot faster though hehe

Kodiak does a pretty good job of emulating true PT6A  turbo prop engine behaviour. In my opinion the best PT6 engine in the game.

Not perfect though, you can even forget and leave the conditioner on high idle and hit start - and it just starts without any excess ITT temps or "hot start" engine damage.

Only has room for a co-pilot and 8 passengers though.

I went Kodiak, and I don't regret...

There's a DHC Dash 7 in early development. Probably a bit of a wait, though.

I'll also recommend the Kodiak if you're into that type of plane. It's not a large passenger liner, but it's very well done. As far as I'm concerned it's currently the top of the heap for 3rd party MSFS planes atm. At least in terms of the ones I've bought.

The Twotter seems to be making a lot of turboprop junkies happy as well. Not really my jam personally (I prefer smaller planes), but those that have it seem to really like it.
