If the iniBuilds 310 also sells well in MSFS, I can see iniBuilds shifting their resources from XP to do more MSFS projects. If I were the CEO of iniBuilds and I saw that MSFS products make way more $$$ than XP products, and the time to develop the MSFS product is not excessively longer than developing an XP product, it’s a no brainer to shift resources from XP into MSFS.

I'm not so sure the 310 will sell well after all those premium aircraft being released right now. It's a niche aircraft for a start, even more niche than their A300 (which at least has some real life cargo fun to go with), and while it sold well on XPL it was mostly because it was the only real study level addon at all (yes one can argue about the Toliss). Here on MSFS it will not be the only one, and certainly not the most in-depth one, too. Also as far as I understood their post-release support with the a300 was rather slow. So what exactly is supposed to make this aircraft sell?

If the scale of sales volumes are what they sound like even niche aircraft seem like they could do very well in MSFS compared to previous sims.

I sure hope so anyway as the niche ones are often the most interesting to me!

The A300/10 are very in depth? Watch the Real Life ex 300/10 Pilots fly it on you tube, in particular watch the one with the landing in Lebanon by and ex 300 captain. He was like this is on the numbers as I did it back in the day. Support was not slow, it had very little issues aside from FPS. If you dont own it, "I heard" means nothing. It is as Study level as PMDG and it wasn't the only one. The A310 will sell amazingly no doubt, It comes in 3 variants PAX/CARGO/MRT and the MRT bit works too.

While generally when someone says "days" I think 3-4 days, how can we know if it's not 15 or 40 days etc?

This is indeed great news! To each their own in regards to marketing strategies of the various developers. I don’t mind at all this low-key approach. I don’t need to buy at release day. I’ll read opinions and reviews and make up my mind. If it turns out to be what we are hoping for, I’ll buy it. If they decide to lift the NDA of beta-testers before release, that’s great too. 

Just to add I’ve got a LOT more on my mind on this topic, but as it’s already hot enough as it is, with temperatures rising, I’ll refrain from venting my opinions.

A320 space is too crowded right now, poor business move to develop another one, perhaps FSL need to go back into the malware market instead.

PMDG went out too early. Got backlash for meaningless hype and delays. Made boring videos about the other videos they were going to make. Also got negative press from some of the streaming - the Fabio flop will be long remembered.

Fenix is more of a stealth campaign. I think they’re getting decent amount of attention. Lots of people saying it’s the best aircraft ever, you hear that more often from the crowd than you do for PMDG. So the Fenix has developed a mystique which the PMDG lacks.

I’m not a marketing expert, but I’d say that Fenix is doing ok.

There was only one poster on today’s r/flightsim thread who hadn’t heard of the Fenix. Which is actually pretty impressive.

also a very different feel to the last PMDG thread I read over there, which overall had a vibe that was very hostile to the company.

I think marketing is more complex than you make out. 

Most flightsim companies don’t attempt hype like PMDG does, and that’s probably a good thing.
