I’m glad FSLabs finally get a real competitor. Everyone seems to have conveniently forgotten about the malware they installed on everyone’s PC.

Seriously still going on about it LOL. wow.

So how is the ProSim vnav and lnav? Better than the Maddog or PMDG? This is probably the most important aspect of any plane for 99 percent of us haha. Just hope it can fly a proper RNP.

It will definitely be better than PMDG, because their LNAV is barely working at times! As for the rest since they do commercial sims I think LNAV and VNAV will be very good. However, I have heard that ProSim was fairly buggy, but we‘ll see how much that transfers to the Fenix.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

No you said Fenix pushed out development because of FBW, which is inaccurate.

As I suspected, you missed my point!  It's thanks to the great work of FBW that whets our appetite for such things.

I am at a loss, What's this got to do with the releaase of the Fenix A320.... Another thread disrupted.

FSL are done. Now back on topic Fenix is another day closer to release… 😁

That said, their Concorde looks good, but it's about as niche as it gets so next to no-one'll buy it (I might, though). Their future looks bleak.

Even if there had been no scandal, with the appearance of Fenix, FSL are suddenly largely irrelevant unless they do the widebodies. The company is doomed.

There's already a hint to "an Airbus that needs more fuel".

FSL's only avenue for the near-term in MSFS is an A330 before Aerosoft reduce the potential market by releasing a mid-tier version.

AMD Ryzen 5800X3D; MSI RTX 3080 Ti ; 32GB Corsair 3200 MHz; ASUS VG35VQ 35" (3440 x 1440)
Fulcrum One yoke; Thrustmaster TCA Captain Pack Airbus edition; MFG Crosswind rudder pedals; miniCockpit FCU; CPFlight MCP 737; Logitech FIP x3; TrackIR

MSFS; Fenix A320; A2A PA-24; HPG H145; PMDG 737-600; AIG; RealTraffic; PSXTraffic; FSiPanel; REX AccuSeason Adv; FSDT GSX Pro; FS2Crew RAAS Pro; FS-ATC Chatter

The irony is, there is also a freeware A330 that is using FBW's code: https://flightsim.to/file/18198/airbus-a330-900neo-conversion.

Now of course, this freeware A330 has a long way to go.  But if it benefits from the FBW A320 code, every time FBW adds features to their code, those features can show up in this A330 (when they get the latest FBW code of course).  And since this freeware A330 was released, I think the lead developer of it, Headwind, has received more offers of help to improve it.

So FSL's market share on the A330 in MSFS will be eaten away by Aerosoft, and this freeware A330 as it improves.

I asked this on another thread, will pose it here too... Really hoping Fenix go on to make different/new aircrafts or at the very least new airbuses that we don't yet have for MSFS in high fidelity form. Not sure if they plan to stick to using ProSim as a base for systems simulation in which case I guess they're confined to only what ProSim supports (from https://prosim-ar.com/ that appears to be the A320 and 737 as of now). Also not sure if they're able to adapt their customized version of the ProSim A320 code to serve as a starting point for any other airbus such as the 330/350/380/etc? Probably not I suspect.

My guess is, Fenix will do the A319 or A321 next. They can reuse the ProSim code, and reuse their overall A320 code, for the A319 and A321.  This will effectively also take away the A319 and A321 market from FSL in MSFS.  After they finish the A319 and A321, from there, it will be interesting to see what Fenix works on.

In one fell swoop, FSL will lose their market share in MSFS for the A319/A320/A321 to Fenix.

One huge thing missing.  The fenix only will launch with CFM engines modeled.  That means anybody who is looking to simulate IAE flights are out.  No JetBlue etc.  So it's not really "one fell swoop".  Though I totally think fenix will be a success.

IAEs are on the Fenix roadmap and the necessary update(s) will be free of charge.

For those worried about bugs inherent to ProSim, Aamir did indicate (If I remember correctly) that quite a lot of work went into fine tuning the ProSim code. It wasn't just dumped into MSFS then draped in a pretty A320 exterior, so to speak.

Let's wait and see, I hope it will be a huge success for them 😉
